In a de-escalation of internal GOP tensions, House Republicans are now aiming to refer a Biden impeachment resolution to two committees instead of holding an immediate vote on impeaching the president.

The House will vote Thursday to send a resolution offered by Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., to the Homeland Security and Judiciary committees. By forgoing the impeachment vote, Republicans will be able to avoid, for now, a messy fight that was already dividing the conference.

The House Rules Committee advanced the plan in a last-minute meeting Wednesday night after huddling with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who urged rank-and-file Republicans at a closed-door meeting earlier in the day to oppose Boebert’s resolution, arguing that such an important issue should go through the committee process, three GOP sources who heard the comments confirmed.

DOJ Tipped Off Hunter Biden Before a Search of His Storage Unit, IRS Whistleblowers Say

A recent executive meeting of the Ways and Means Committee resulted in a decision to release to the public testimony from two whistleblowers. The whistleblowers, both IRS employees, made shocking revelations about misconduct and abuse of power by Biden’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) during the investigation of Hunter Biden’s tax evasion case.

The whistleblowers claim that the Department of Justice (DOJ) tipped off Hunter Biden prior to a federal search of his storage unit.

The information revealed during the Ways and Means Committee’s executive meeting shows that Hunter Biden appears to have received preferential treatment in the investigation of his tax crimes.

Despite IRS officials recommending that Hunter Biden be charged with criminal activity for attempts to evade or defeat taxes, fraud and false statements, and willful failures to file returns, supply information, or pay taxes for over $8.3 million in income, the testimony alleges that Hunter Biden received preferential treatment during the investigation.

Further allegations point to the DOJ interfering in the investigation, deploying a strategy of “Delay, Divulge, and Deny” to shield Hunter Biden, according to the news committee’s press release.

Delays in the investigation were allegedly unjustified and pervasive, the DOJ was accused of divulging information about the investigation to Hunter Biden’s lawyers in advance, and there were several denials of attempts to bring charges or achieve special counsel status from the DOJ.

Coors Light to sponsor Denver Pride parade despite recent boycotts

Coors Light plans to move forward as the title sponsor for the 2023 Denver Pride Parade, despite the recent boycott of its competitor, Bud Light.

Parent company Anheuser-Busch is still recovering from customer backlash over its Bud Light promotional campaign featuring Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender-identifying social media influencer. Since the controversial partnership, the beer-maker's stock price has dropped approximately 15%, and U.S. sales have taken a steep dive.

Bud Light was not the only company to see fallout for alienating its core customer base. Retailers Kohl's and Target also faced calls for boycotts after stocking LGBT-themed apparel for children.

Axios reported that collectively, Anheuser-Busch, Kohl's, and Target have lost $28.7 billion in market value since April.

As a result, Bud Light fell off as America's top-selling beer. The company scrambled to regain losses by investing in marketing campaigns and offering to buy back expired beer from retailers.

California Dems Advance Legislation to Give Therapists Unconditional Power to Remove 12 Year Olds From Their Parents

California Democrats advanced legislation on Tuesday that would give therapists unconditional power to remove 12-year-old children from their parents.

One of the bill’s co-authors, state senator Scott Wiener, also authored a bill that would revoke or limit custody for parents who do not “affirm” a child’s chosen “gender identity.”

The new bill does not mention “gender identity” specifically, but given Weiner’s track record, people are rightly alarmed.

“Wiener, who recently honored anti-Catholic drag nuns at the California legislature, is also pushing a bill that would require California foster parents to “affirm” the transgender identities of foster children,” the Washington Free Beacon reports. “Last week, the Senate Judiciary Committee advanced another bill that Wiener co-authored to make parents’ non-affirmation of their child’s transgender identity grounds for revoking or limiting custody. Last year, a law that Wiener authored went into effect, empowering California courts to take temporary jurisdiction of kids who come to California from out of state in search of hormone therapy or other transition treatment.”

According to the report, many California parents testified against the bill calling it the “emancipation of 12-year-olds,” “heinous,” and “dangerous.”

“Have each of you used your elected platforms and networks to inform and speak with the people of California?” Los Angeles mother Wendy Minas asked the Senate panel during her testimony against the bill. “It doesn’t seem so, because when I talk to my community, no one knows about it. And when they hear about it, they are shocked and angry that you would consider passing an extreme bill that would break apart families during a child’s most difficult and challenging years.”

“The authors want to change the law to let a 12-year-old opt out of their home on a whim, invoking parental separation and emancipation of minors without any claim of danger or parental consent,” Nicole Pearson, an attorney, said while testifying. “This is child emancipation.”

Ahead of his trip to China, Chris Hipkins said he "disagreed" with comments made by Joe Biden describing Xi Jinping as a “dictator”.

New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins has pushed back against comments made by President Joe Biden about Xi Jinping.

At a fundraising event in California this week, Mr Biden described Mr Xi as a “dictator” when referencing the infamous spy balloon incident.

“The reason why Xi Jinping got very upset in terms of when I shot that balloon down with two box cars full of spy equipment is he didn’t know it was there,” Mr Biden said.

“No, I’m serious. That was the great embarrassment for dictators, when they didn’t know what happened.”

But ahead of his first visit to Beijing as Prime Minister, Mr Hipkins said he does not agree with Mr Biden’s assessment.

"No, and the form of government that China has is a matter for the Chinese people," he told reporters.

He was then pressed over whether the people of China get a say about their form of government.

“If they wanted to change their system of government, then that would be a matter for them,” he responded.

In response to Mr Biden’s comments, Beijing’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said they were “absurd and irresponsible”.

“It is a blatant political provocation. China expresses strong dissatisfaction and opposition,” she said.

‘This Is Organized Crime Activity’: James Comer Hints At Next Steps In Biden Family Investigation

Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky said Friday that investigators with the House Oversight Committee were planning to “trace” suspected money to the Biden family from Ukrainian sources, calling it “organized crime activity.”

Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and Republican Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa wrote to the FBI May 3, demanding the agency produce a document detailing what a whistleblower said were details of an alleged criminal scheme involving a foreign national and then-Vice President Biden. Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the ranking minority member of the House Oversight Committee, reviewed the unclassified document June 5, and Comer reviewed additional documents Tuesday.

“My investigation is about following the money, so I would love to have the tapes,” Comer told Fox Business host Larry Kudlow. “I believe that those tapes exist, but even if those tapes have been destroyed, the oligarch has been murdered or disappeared, whatever happened, as long as we follow the money and we prove that there were, there were, you know, significant wires, because remember in the form 1023 it didn’t say we sent a five million dollar wire to the Bidens, it said the investigators would never find it because we sent it through so many different banks.”

“We haven’t gotten to the Ukrainian money yet,” Comer said. “We’re trying. Obviously, and the FBI form said this, they went to great lengths, this is organized crime activity here, they went to great lengths to hide their criminal activity, but I believe in the end we’ll be able to trace that money

Grassley said that recordings of then-Vice President Joe Biden and Hunter Biden related to a bribery allegation exist, citing a review of an unclassified document known as a FD-1023, during a June 12 speech on the Senate floor.

Comer’s comments came after Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee released transcripts of depositions from Internal Revenue Service whistleblowers who said Attorney General Merrick Garland and IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel lied to Congress about the Hunter Biden probe Thursday. Whistleblowers also revealed Hunter Biden sent a message to a Chinese business partner claiming then-Vice President Joe Biden was with him during a payment dispute.

“This is a pattern we’ve seen in Romania,” Comer continued. “This is a pattern we already uncovered in China, where the foreign nationals send countless money wires that are laundered through shell companies the Bidens’ created that then go down to Biden family members in their personal accounts.”
