The other closures I see are on the Stillwater River, not the Yellowstone.

none really as the elemental form is not highly reactive. If left in place it will just become a time-released micronutrient (if it oxides) or from metal sulfide compounds (if it reduces).
Ok.
Yellowstone closed upstream [Pelican FAP] because they don't what boats and rafts to float through the "wreck" area.

I just got off the phone with Transportation Sec. Buttigieg. He informed me that the EPA and FRA are on-site. I told him my top priorities are:
➡️What is in the containers?
➡️When will they be removed from the river?
➡️How does that impact downstream drinking water?
➡️How long will it take to contain and or clean up?
Once we have answers to that, we can begin to address what caused the incident and how long it will take to get the line up and running again.
