>Typewriters

this anon's mother, who is still kickin' it at 95, learned to type in school high school "office" classes. Back then they didn't put the letters on the keys on the training typewriters. Try doing that today and the snowflakes would be screaming not fair! kek.

>He said he never really learned to type

I've for decades told my kids that in the future people will be able to type better than write. Today, it's much worse than I imagined it would be. Words don't even matter anymore. I insist all my grandkids learn to read and write cursive. I tell them it will be like being bilingual some day and the skill would be worth money. Even though the truth is they took cursive out of schools so people would not be able to read historical documents, like the Constitution, letters from family, etc.
