The death of a ground crew member at San Antonio International Airport over the weekend has been ruled a suicide.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office released its findings Monday morning. According to the National Transportation Safety Board, a 27-year-old man was "ingested into" a plane engine on Saturday.
The Medical Examiner's Office found signs on Monday that "pointed to suicide," officials said in a news release.
"Based on information the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office provided to the National Transportation Safety Board today, the NTSB will not be opening an investigation into this event," wrote NTSB officials in a statement Monday. "There were no operational safety issues with either the airplane or the airport."
The worker was employed by a Delta contractor that supports the airline's ground operations.
"We are deeply saddened by this incident and are working with authorities as they begin their investigation," SAT officials said over the weekend.
