could also be read to mean "would show 99% of people that they're already located in a hospital"

like … when an alibi is discussed… that puts you at three hospital at that time.

well, if we're all just being medicated through mass media marketing and drugged through food… maybe thats the broader point. society itself is institutionalized to the point that we're all just checked into it.
