The letter came through and simply said we are closing your accounts. We want to finish it all by a date which is a about now. I didn’t know what to make of it. I complained. I emailed the chairman. A lackey phoned me to say that it was a commercial decision which I have to say I didn’t believe per single moment. So, there we are. I have to go find a different bank. I’ve been to six, no seven banks actually. I asked them all could I have a personal and a business account and the answer has been ‘no’ in every single case. There is nothing irregular or unusual about what I do. The payments that go in and come out every month are pretty much the same. I maintain in my business account with a big positive cash balance which I guess with interest rates where they are is pretty good for the bank too. So why is this happening too me?

The letter comes after the committee released (following a party line vote) transcripts and evidence provided by the whistleblowers last week. The transcripts and evidence contain stunning allegations of criminality by Hunter and Joe Biden as well as accusations of obstruction and sabotage of the investigation by officials with the Justice Department.

The WhatsApp text dated July 30,2017 that was obtained by the IRS from Hunter’s Apple iCloud account reads, “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”

Lowell responded: “… The facts, which some media has now reported, are that President Biden and our client were not together that day, the company being referenced was not CEFC but Harvest Financial Group (with a person who also had the initial “Z”), and that no transaction actually occurred…”

Lowell took direct aim at whistleblower Gary Shapley, a senior IRS investigator who has gone public with his allegations against Hunter Biden and the DOJ.

Ukraine sues Iran over 2020 downed plane

Kiev says it has filed a lawsuit to ensure Tehran is held accountable for shooting down flight 752

Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against Iran at the UN’s International Court of Justice for the 2020 downing of a civilian airliner, Kiev’s Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.

According to a statement published on the ministry’s website, Ukraine, along with other members of the International Coordination Group for Assistance to the Victims of Flight PS752, which comprises Canada, Sweden, Ukraine and the UK, are demanding that Tehran be held accountable for the incident.

The ministry noted that “no agreement has yet been reached between Iran and the Coordination Group to organize arbitration under Article 14 of the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts aimed against the safety of civil aviation.”

On January 8, 2020, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Ukraine International Airlines was en route from Tehran to Kiev. Shortly after take-off from Imam Khomeini International Airport, the aircraft exploded in mid-air, killing all 176 people on board. The victims included citizens of Ukraine and Iran, along with nationals of the UK, Germany, Canada, Sweden and Afghanistan.

A week later, the Iranian military admitted that they had mistakenly shot down the Boeing, which was flying near a military facility, after confusing it for an “enemy target.” The incident occurred at a time when Iran was bracing for a potential US retaliation for ballistic missile strikes on American military bases in Iraq. Tehran ultimately blamed the incident on a string of human errors, as well as a trigger-happy operator of the air defense system.

In April this year, a military court in Iran handed down prison terms to ten defendants over the tragedy. The commander of the air defense system received 13 years, while nine others – the defense system’s crew, a Tehran military base commander, an officer at the regional operations control center and a regional Air Defense commander – were sentenced to between one and three years behind bars.

Iran also pledged to pay $150,000 dollars to the families of each victim, in addition to compensation payments ordered by the court, and announced in January 2022 that it had started transferring the funds.

Kiev, however, accused Tehran for failing to take full responsibility for the incident or ensure that such tragedies do not happen again.

French interior minister, Gérald Darmanin, said overnight chaos has resulted in 2,000 cars burned, 500 buildings damaged, hundreds of businesses looted, and violent clashes with police. He said over 800 people were arrested, with nearly 250 officers injured.

Earlier, Macron blamed social media for fueling 'copycat violence,' and said state agencies would ask Twitter, Snapchat, and Tiktok to ban the most "sensitive content."

Riots and vandalism continued throughout the day Friday. Darmanin said buses and trams would be shut down by 9 pm local time nationwide to suppress the overnight unrest.

According to the latest leak, the special counsel’s prosecutors are preparing a “superseding indictment” – a separate set of charges against Trump in the Southern District of Florida.

Jack Smith’s prosecutors may also bring additional charges against Trump in a different venue if they feel Judge Aileen Cannon is being too fair to Trump.

This is the same theory that corrupt prosecutor Andrew Weissmann recently floated.

Trump was charged with 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information and 6 other process crimes stemming from his conversations with his lawyer.

Jack Smith however did not charge Trump with dissemination of the national defense information related to documents stored at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club.

According to the indictment reviewed by this reporter, In July 2021, at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ, during an audio-recorded meeting with a reporter and two staffers, Trump “showed and described a “plan of attack” that Trump said was prepared for him by the DoD and a senior military official.”

The Florida indictment did not include a charge for the so-called ‘Iran memo’ – so Jack Smith can hit Trump with charges in another venue outside of Florida.

ESPN cutting around 20 on-air stars in dramatic round of layoffs

ESPN is laying off some of its biggest stars, including Jeff Van Gundy, Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, Suzy Kolber, and Jalen Rose, in a purge that is expected to result in around 20 on-air personalities being let go Friday as the network hopes to save tens of millions of dollars, The Post has learned.

ESPN informed all of its employees Friday morning of the forthcoming cuts on an internal website, according to a memo obtained by The Post.

The five-paragraph note did not go into many specifics.

At the beginning of Disney’s three rounds of layoffs, sources told The Post that at ESPN, there would be “no sacred cows” when letting go of personnel.

This has become apparent on Friday.

Van Gundy, Kellerman, Johnson, Kolber and Rose were also joined by “NFL Countdown” analyst Matt Hasselbeck, NFL draft expert Todd McShay, college basketball analyst LaPhonso Ellis, “SportsCenter” anchor Ashley Brewer, radio host Jason Fitz and baseball writer Joon Lee.

Van Gundy is considered one of the best NBA TV game analysts ever, while Johnson signed a big contract just a year ago.

The service, in collaboration with Iris ID’s technology, has amassed a staggering 2.5 million identities and is burgeoning at an astonishing rate of around 100,000 new identities monthly. In addition to this, the service has access to fifteen million identities present in other federal government databases.

While this might seem like a boon for law enforcement agencies in tracking down criminals, it raises serious questions about the extent of surveillance and the potential misuse of biometric data. The fusion of Iris ID’s technology with the FBI’s program has been ongoing since 2014. The service allows access to an enormous repository of iris biometric data coupled with fingerprint and face biometrics.

In a world where data breaches are not uncommon, the protection and ethical use of this sensitive biometric data become paramount. There is a potential risk of this information falling into the wrong hands or being exploited in ways that infringe upon civil liberties.

The recent integration of presentation attack detection capabilities into the FBI’s service is also worthy of examination. Though intended to thwart deceptive attempts against biometric systems, the wide-reaching surveillance capabilities have tremendous downsides. There is a thin line between safeguarding national security and creating a surveillance state, which could be detrimental to the freedoms and privacy of individuals.

What’s more, Iris ID is working on mobile capabilities, which may extend the reach of this biometric data collection. While this may be beneficial in high-volume scenarios like prisoner transportation or border control management, it also opens the door for sweeping surveillance that may not be justifiable. The accessibility and mobility of such data collection tools should be weighed carefully against the right to privacy.

Mohammed Murad, Iris ID VP of Global Business & Development, claims that the adoption of the technology is an indicator of the increasing appeal of iris recognition. However, one must ponder whether this appeal is blurring the crucial distinction between security and invasion of privacy.

Midi Libre newspaper confirmed the presence of the French President at the concert in a Fact-Check piece, noting the “strong reaction, in a particularly tense context” to the President’s choice of activity Wednesday night among French internet users.

Broadcaster LBC cites right-wing populist MEP Thierry Mariani, who cited Ecclesiastes 10:16 (“Woe to thee, O land, when thy king [is] a child”) and said: “While France was on fire, Macron was not at the side of his Minister of the Interior or the police… everyone has their own priorities!”.

Even as violence intensified Macron left the country for a European Union leaders’ summit in Brussels. Apparently belatedly realising his mistake, President Macron cancelled a media conference and left the crunch talks on immigration policy and Russia early to rush back to Paris to appear present.

Addressing the nation, Macron chose to blame social media and computer games for the violence, calling on tech companies to censor content to calm the riots responding to the death of a teenager in a Paris suburb at the hands of a police officer. Macron has asked public transport operators to shut down all buses and trams tonight as the country heads into a defacto overnight curfew.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky met Thursday with teenage eco-worrier Greta Thunberg as she denounced the ecological havoc caused by Russia’s invasion and what she said was the world’s lack of reaction to the ongoing disaster.

“Ecocide and environmental destruction is a form of warfare… as Ukrainians by this point know all too well — and so does Russia,” Thunberg said after the meeting, called during a visit to Kyiv as part of an international delegation investigating the environmental consequences of the conflict.

“And that’s why they are deliberately targeting the environment and people’s livelihoods and homes and therefore also destroying lives…”.

Thunberg was speaking at a news conference along with Ukrainian presidential aide Andriy Yermak, AFP reports.

“I do not think that the world reaction to this ecocide is sufficient,” Thunberg continued. “I don’t think any reaction could be sufficient. So I guess we need to make more room for people who are affected by these catastrophes to tell their stories and to share information about what’s happening on the ground.”

TMZ Sports reported Friday that the Minister of Culture, an Italian government official, reached out to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg just days ago, suggesting that the 2,000-year-old historic Colosseum could potentially host a fight between the Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, Twitter owner and Tesla CEO.

According to TMZ Sports, both Zuckerberg and Musk want the fight to take place at the Colosseum. Report: US Close to Approving Long-Range ATACMS for Ukraine

The ATACMS have a range of up to 190 miles

The US is close to approving the provision of longer-range missiles for Ukraine that the White House has been reluctant to send due to concerns of escalation, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

The Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) have a range of up to 190 miles and can be fired from US-provided HIMARS rocket systems. The ATACMS would more than double Ukraine’s strike range and could be used to hit targets inside Crimea and in the Russian mainland.

Most of the ammunition Kyiv has for use with the HIMARS has a range of about 50 miles, although the US has also pledged Ground Launched Small Diameter Bombs (GLSDB), which can hit targets up to 94 miles away. Russia said in March that it had downed a GLSDB for the first time.

US and European officials told the Journal that the decision to send ATACMS is pending approval at the highest levels of the US government. The report said that the officials have seen “signs that previously reluctant quarters of the US government, namely the White House, have come to see an urgent need to bolster Ukraine’s fight in the coming weeks.”

The officials cited Yevgeny Prigozhin’s short-lived mutiny as a reason why the US should escalate military aid for Ukraine. Hawks in Congress have been arguing that the uprising is evidence that US support for Kyiv is working and say it’s a reason to approve more spending on the war.

When asked about the report, Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said, “I’m not aware of any imminent decisions as it relates to ATACMS.”

Ukrainian officials insist they won’t use ATACMS to target Russian territory, but the Discord leaks have suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would want to use US-provided missiles in Russia. According to intelligence obtained by spying on Zelensky, he expressed “concern” about the fact that his forces didn’t have weapons that could hit troops inside Russia.

While the US has discouraged Ukraine from using US weapons inside Russia, the restriction does not apply to Crimea, which Moscow has controlled since 2014. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has acknowledged that Crimea is a “red line” for Russian President Vladimir Putin, but other US officials, including Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland, have said the US supports Ukrainian attacks on the peninsula.

Biden’s Iran Envoy Placed On Leave After Probe Into Handling Of Classified Material: Report

President Joe Biden’s special envoy to Iran has reportedly been placed on leave and his security clearance suspended amid an investigation into his handling of classified material.

CNN reported that Rob Malley, who has been widely criticized for being soft on Iran, was suspended after the State Department launched an investigation over “possible mishandling of classified information.”

The report said that his security clearance was pulled earlier this year and that he was placed “on leave without pay” on Thursday.

“I have been informed that my security clearance is under review,” he said. “I have not been provided any further information, but I expect the investigation to be resolved favorably and soon. In the meantime, I am on leave.”

After the investigation concluded, he was reportedly allowed to stay in his role, but was blocked from accessing classified material.

Sources familiar with that matter told the network that U.S. officials discovered “an issue with Malley’s security clearance” during the investigation.

Malley, whose anti-Israel, pro-Iranian perspective has colored his career, came under fire late last year over his tepid response as Iranian protesters target the despotic, theocratic Iranian government.

IRS whistleblower: Hunter Biden hasn’t paid taxes on 2014 money from Ukrainian oligarch’s firm

Agent Gary Shapley tells Just the News ‘local businessman or the neighbor next door … would have been charged’ differently than deal Hunter Biden got.

Federal agents secured evidence that Hunter Biden engaged in a “pretty classic tax evasion scheme” that allowed him to avoid paying taxes on millions of dollars in income since at least 2014, and the deal he ultimately got would not have been afforded to other Americans facing such serious charges, an IRS whistleblower who supervised the investigation tells Just the News.

“If these facts were from the local businessman or the neighbor next door, they would have been charged, they would have already probably had their entire sentence,” IRS Supervisor Agent Gary Shapley said during a 45-minute interview aired Thursday on the John Solomon Reports podcast.

Shapley, and a second IRS whistleblower whose name has not been released, rocked Washington earlier this month when they told the House Ways and Means Committee that Justice Department engaged in significant political interference in Hunter Biden’s tax cases that thwarted agents from getting search warrants, interviewing witnesses and ultimately bringing the serious felony charges that career prosecutors believed were warranted against President Joe Biden’s son.

Shapley, a 14-year veteran of the IRS, reiterated to Just the News what he told lawmakers, and strongly disputed some liberal attacks that he is a disgruntled agent. He said the cases he has worked on just the last few years will have recovered nearly $5 billion by year’s end in taxpayer money from all over the globe.

“I'm pro-IRS. I'm pro mission. I'm pro agency,” he said. “I've been a senior leader at this agency, I have a lot of great friends in senior leadership. And I believe in what we're doing. But I believe in what we're doing, when we're treating people fairly. And, you know, it just didn't happen in this particular case.”

Shapley and his lawyers Tristan Leavitt and Jason Foster of the Empower Oversight whistleblower center and Mark Lytle told Just the News that IRS and FBI agents ultimately uncovered evidence that Hunter Biden failed to declare more than $8 million in income on his federal returns between the 2014 and 2019 tax years after receiving a tip about an amateur pornography site. By failing to declare income or file tax returns, the first son avoided paying $2.2 million in taxes during that time, they added.

Shapley said the team of IRS agents he supervised found evidence that the evasion included that Hunter Biden did not declare about $400,000 in income from the controversial Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings in 2014 led by the oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky.

Shapley’s allegations were initially provided in testimony to the House Ways and Means Committee last month. He fleshed out his claims in an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier on Wednesday.

“If there is money that’s going elsewhere, whether it’s to President Biden or elsewhere, we need to follow the investigative steps to ensure that happens,” he explained. “And they were just not allowed in this particular investigation.”

Shapley added that Hunter Biden received payments totaling “around $8.3 million” from China, Ukraine, and Romania between 2014 and 2019.

But when it came to investigating any potential involvement with his father, something President Biden has denied, the avenues of exploration were allegedly shut off.

“We weren’t allowed to ask questions about dad. We weren’t allowed to ask about the big guy,” said Shapley. “We weren’t allowed to include certain names and document requests and search warrants. So we were precluded from following that line of questioning.”

Europol supported the Spanish Civil Guard (Guardia Civil) to dismantle a criminal network involved in the multi-tonne trafficking of cocaine from South America to the EU. The investigation, which started in October 2022, involved the Colombian National Police (Policía Nacional de Colombia) and the Latvian State Police (Latvijas Valsts policija). Europol facilitated the exchange of information and provided continuous analytical support. On the action day, Europol deployed officers to Spain to support intelligence developments during the field activities.

Seizures included: 6.5 tonnes of cocaine, vehicles, luxury watches, a large number of electronic devices and EUR 1.5 million in cash

Drugged banana containers

The leader of the criminal network is considered to be one of Spain’s biggest drug traffickers. Based in Malaga, the kingpin headed a large-scale network, smuggling tonnes of cocaine from Ecuador and Colombia to the EU in a wholesale type of criminal business structure. The crime boss is also a member of a well-known local family from the Spanish city Castellar de la Frontera, which used a wholesale frozen fish company in Algeciras as a front business.

The criminal network laundered the illicit assets through this company, while also being involved in attempts to corrupt public officials. As for the smuggling of cocaine, the criminal network used another means to stash their illicit cargo – bananas. The cover shipment was the importation of bananas from Ecuador and Colombia. Once the shipments were extracted from the port of Algeciras and were on their way to their legal destination, they were diverted to a warehouse where the pallets with cocaine were replaced with identical ones containing bananas.
