The USS Nimitz returned to its homeport in Bremerton Sunday following a seven-month deployment.
During its seven-month deployment, the USS Nimitz sailed over 65,000 nautical miles and completed over 14,500 successful aircraft launches and recoveries, according to the U.S. Navy.
The ship, which is the United State’s oldest active aircraft carrier, completed its 350,000 arrested landing on April 22, 2023, while sailing the South China Sea. The U.S. Navy said the USS Nimitz is the first active U.S. aircraft carrier to reach the milestone.
