Did Incompetence Allow Pearl Harbor?

Did you know that in 1941 the commander at Pearl Harbor reversed the alert codes but didn’t tell Washington?

The controversy about “did Roosevelt know” about Pearl Harbor took it on the chin a few years ago in a book by a major who, in World War II, was instructed to get to the bottom of what happened in the surprise attack.

Henry Clausen was given a special assignment in 1945 by Chief of Staff George Marshall: re-interview all those who gave testimony to the five Congressional committees, except this time, tell them you are aware of the MAGIC code breaking operation and are “read into” the program.

Clausen responded that they wouldn’t believe him.

Marshall said they would because he was going to supply Clausen with several actual MAGIC documents—as secret as the atomic bomb itself—that he was to carry in a pouch on his person at all times.

Since the war was still going on, if Clausen was shot down anywhere over enemy held territory, rather than allow the documents to fall into enemy hands, he was to ignite the package on his chest with a trigger, thus committing suicide.

Clausen must have gulped at that one, but he carried out his assignment.

Suddenly, those who had told one story to several congressional committees—absolving Admiral Husband Kimmel and General Walter Short—could now reference secret information they could not previously even reveal to Congress. Their newtestimony told a different story of non-cooperation between the Army and the Navywho had the duty of protecting Pearl Harbor in 1941.

Most of all, it told a shocking story of incompetence by General Walter Short and his staff.

The problem came when the War Department sent the commanders at Pearl Harbor a “war” message on November 27 stating in the most stark terms that “hostile action [is] possible at any moment.”

General short had a “Standard Operating Procedure” for such cases from July that had the alerts numbered one through three, with one the highest level of alert and three the lowest.

OnNovember 5, 1941, Short reversed the alert ordermaking the highest alert level the lowest and vice versa. “One” now was the equivalent of “three.”

But it was far worse, because Short had never informed the War Department of the change, when he was asked if he was on “Alert 1" Short replied he was—only by that time “Alert 1" was the lowest level of alert, not highest.

The new “Alert 1" was an alert “with no threat from without” (i.e., from the ocean)!

Concluding his review, Clausen wrote that “Short played down his changing of the SOP in his testimony before the Army Pearl Harbor Board . . . . [and] misled the interrogator who asked him the question about the alerts.”

"Played down" indeed.

Macron proposes fines for rioting youths

(What a useless leader, he had an “real insurrection” with terrorists leading it and he’s going to give them fines?)

France has been gripped by widespread violence following the fatal shooting of a teenager by police

French President Emmanuel Macron has proposed issuing fines to youths involved in the ongoing unrest in the country, but has said that the “peak” of the rioting across France has passed.

Around 4,000 people have been arrested across the country since Friday in widespread demonstrations following the death of a 17-year-old boy of North African descent at the hands of French police last week. The country’s justice ministry has estimated that about 1,200 of those arrested are minors.

“We need to find a way of sanctioning the families financially and easily,” Macron said during a Monday meeting with police officers in Paris, according to Le Parisien. “A sort of minimum price for the first screw up.”

Speaking last week, Macron outlined his position that it is the “responsibility of the parents to keep them at home,” amid reports that children as young as 12 had been detained in protests after the killing of teenager Nahel Merzouk by police in the Paris suburbs. The French leader added that “it is not the state’s job to act in [parents’] place.”

Various French authorities across numerous municipalities had said that there has been a downturn in violence, according to Politico. Around 72 people were arrested between Monday night and early on Tuesday – a significant decrease from previous days.

Four offices of police or gendarmes were also attacked late on Monday, the Paris interior ministry said, but there were no injuries sustained by law enforcement officials. Around 45,000 police officers were mobilized across the country on Monday.

“I’ll still be very cautious over the coming days and weeks,” Macron told mayors of French areas affected by the violence in a summit at the Elysee Palace on Monday, broadcaster BFMTV reported on Tuesday. “But the peak we experienced in the first nights is over.”

Macron has also pledged to “start the painstaking, long-term work needed to understand the deeper reasons that led to these events,” according to an official at the president’s office.

However, Macron has also called for vigilance within the ranks of the police amid concerns that violence may again ramp up this month during France’s national holiday on July 13 and 14.

The police officer who fatally shot the 17-year-old boy last week remains in custody as of Tuesday. He is charged with homicide.

Russian MiG-31 fighter jet crashes – military

The plane was lost at sea during a training flight off Kamchatka, Russia’s Pacific Fleet has said

A MiG-31 fighter jet crashed during a training flight in Russia’s Far East off Kamchatka, the country’s Pacific Fleet said in a statement. The aircraft was lost over the waters of Avacha Bay, with the fate of its crew currently unknown.

“The plane was carrying out the flight without ammunition,” the military noted.

The military has dispatched search and rescue teams to the crash area to search for the crew and debris of the aircraft.

The crash has become the second major accident this year involving an aircraft of this type. In April a MiG-31 crashed in Russia’s north, some 150 kilometers from the city of Murmansk. The jet fell in a deserted area, causing no injury or major damage on the ground, while its crew ejected to safety.

MiG-31 planes, known in NATO reporting system as Foxhound, are Russia’s primary long-range interceptors. Conceived in the 1970s, the plane has been repeatedly modernized, ultimately becoming the main carrier for Russia’s hypersonic air-launched Kinzhal missiles. Aircraft of the type have seen somewhat limited action in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, launching Kinzhals at top-priority targets.

Ukraine wants more Western jets, not just F-16s – Kiev

Kiev says it could seek multiple types of fighter planes, including F-18s, F-15s and Eurofighter Typhoons

F-16 fighter jetspromised to Ukraine by its Western backersare not the only military aircraft that Kiev wants, Ukrainian Air Force Command spokesman Yury Ignat said on Tuesday.

“Ukraine considers and will consider other aircraft types that could enhance combat capabilities,” Ignat told national broadcasters when asked about Kiev potentially acquiring American-made F/A-18 Hornets from Australia.

However, Ukraine cannot exert too much pressure on the US and its allies as it depends on Western aid, he admitted.

Ignat said the US-made F/A-18 and F-15, as well as the Eurofighter Typhoon, have a greater range and can carry more weapons. Nonetheless, he stated that Kiev would still focus on acquiring F-16s first, adding that Ukrainian pilots could learn to fly them sooner.

Ukrainian pilots have still not started their F-16 training, the spokesman said, adding that officials in Kiev are “working on the issue every day” by examining bases that are due to serve as training hubs. “The process has been launched,” he told broadcasters, but noted that it has thus far only amounted to “planning.”

Kiev will not receive F-16s until the training of pilots and maintenance crews is completed and the relevant infrastructure is prepared, Ignat said, adding that “handing over [the jets] is impossible for now, it will require time.” (This means US soldiers will be stationed there to for maintenance because Ukraine destroys everything they get)

“=•We cannot put pressure on our partners==, because we depend on their aid,” Ignat stated. None of Ukraine’s foreign backers have spoken about supplying Kiev with Western-made fighter jets other than the F-16 so far. (By announcing this via media thats pressure.)

Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has criticized Kiev’s backers for what he described as a failure to launch the F-16 training program in time. He did not name the specific nations that had promised to start the training in June, but argued that the pledge itself had been “miscalculated.”

“We’re now working with all the parties involved… to speed this process up as much as possible,” Kuleba said.

Russia has repeatedly warned that deliveries of increasingly more sophisticated weapons to Ukraine by the US and its allies only prolongs the conflict and could lead to a major escalation. In late May, Bloomberg reported that F-16s would not be a game changer since they have inferior capabilities compared to many of Russia’s modern military aircraft.

Team DeSantis Starting to Feel the Pressure of Unrealized Billionaire Expectations

July 3, 2023 | Sundance1/2

Despite numerous pontifications to the contrary, it was always going to go this way. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the idiot professional political consultants, those enlisted by the Sea Island billionairesto try and drag the $100 bill on a fishing string through the MAGA hood, were only going to fool the first few blocks of voters; after that, people wised up.

Theproblems are too numerousto encapsulate; however, for the sake of brevity they can be argued into three main buckets:(1) Fakery– the entire dishonest operation from the outset (triggered visibly in ’21, originating back in ’18) was based on deception, astroturf and false pretenses.(2) The candidate just isn’t that good, is inauthentic in the extreme, zero private sector understanding, and is dependent on #1. =(3) Transparently a Big Club operation==, surrounded by the most expensive deceptions the GOPe can muster.

I said last summer the DeSantis campaign would collapse upon itself as sunlight poured in. That’s exactly what has been happening. Despite their initial trust deposits,Florida Republican voters= are now a case study in ‘not going to be fooled again==’. Once you see the strings on the marionettes, you can never return to that moment in the performance when you did not see them. It doesn’t matter how good the stage presentation; the strings are visible, and continued pretending only makes it worse.

(Politico) – A top spokesperson for Ron DeSantis’ super PAC is sounding a decidedly dour note on the Florida governor’s presidential prospects, saying his campaign is facing an “uphill battle” and is trailing badly in the key nominating states.

[…] “Right now in national polling we are way behind, I’ll be the first to admit that,” [Steve] Cortes said in a Twitter spaces event that was recorded on Sunday night. “I believe in being blunt and honest. It’s an uphill battle but clearly Donald Trump is the runaway frontrunner.”

Calling the DeSantis campaign, the “clear underdog,” he added: “In the first four states which matter tremendously, polls are a lot tighter, we are still clearly down. We’re down double digits, we have work to do.”

[…] “If we do not prevail — and I have every intent on winning, I didn’t sign up for this to come in second — but if we do not prevail I will tell you this, we will make President Trump better for having this kind of primary,” Cortes said. (read more)

Given the stakes in our nation, the political challenge against Donald Trump by professional Republicans should be taken in the correct context.

We The People are being targeted, attacked, vilified and put under social and economic assault by the extremists in a corrupt U.S. government. The attack approach against us is through President Donald Trump.

This is not a time for half-measures, pale pastels, pretending and some form of eloquent pontification in some esoteric/intellectual political arena. There are two sides – those who intend to destroy our nation (globalists) and those who are fighting to defend it (nationalists).

Those GOPe candidates, like Ron DeSantis, who are aligned with theBig Club corporations, are essentially aligned against our interests. If the Republicans truly wanted to preserve, protect and defend our republic, they would not be challenging the one man who leads and stands alone against the globalist horde. It really is that simple.

Those Republicans [fill_in_blank] who stand against us now, in any forum, construct, institution or structure of visible assembly, are as much the enemy as the collective leftists who are trying to destroy Donald Trump.

I have neither pity or mercy for any of them, nor their campaigns. Let them be cast forever into the pit of irrelevance.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom – go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!”

~ Sam Adams

NEWSWEEK – Having previously been touted as the GOP’s next presidential hopeful, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis‘ White House bid has been floundering over the past few months, with even Republican figures casting doubt on the future of his campaign.

[…]DeSantis’s unfavorable ratingamong potential voters has been steadily rising since late March, when he recorded a split 39.3 percent favorable rating. This includes the time after he confirmed his 2024 bid in late May in an error-strewn Twitter Space online announcement. (read more)..

2/2

“It must be considered that there is nothing more difficult to carry out, nor more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to handle, than to initiate a new order of things. For the reformer has enemies in all those who profit by the old order, and only lukewarm defenders in all those who would profit by the new order”… “who do not truly believe in anything new until they have had the actual experience of it.”

‒ Niccolò Machiavelli

We will win this contest, not just because we must win – but also there is no option for our children.

You have heard me say three phrases repeatedly: (1) There are trillions of dollars at stake; (2) live your best life; and (3) always trust your instincts.

The first element is the baseline. The economicsof the thing is always the structural reason for the outcome of anything and everything connected to the thing. In simpler times we said, ‘follow the money,’ the core essence of that phrase still exists; however, in recent times the people who are controlling the outcomes have been more subversive at hiding the mechanics of their finance.

The second element is the outcome of acceptance. No one is coming to save you, us, or anything. We are in this battle together, a diversity of humanity that just wants to be left alone and live in freedom; but we are also in this battle alone. No one in a position of institutional power is in alignment with our desire for freedom. Rather than despair at the reality, embrace life and live it as fully and completely as possible – while simultaneously not giving power to the dark imaginings that facilitate the goals of those in power. Throw sand in their machinery when possible.

The last point speaks to the inherent strength that exists within the human species. Turn off the noise; turn away from voices that push the illusions into view, and trust your natural instincts that were provided by a loving God. Into this concept rememberthere is no such thing as misinformation, disinformation or malinformation; there is only information. That information may take the form of truth or lies. Use your God given skills to decipher the difference, and when in doubt pause and pray for assistance and clarity.

It’s going to be ugly.

It is likely to be uncomfortable.

It is certain to be intense, gritty, bloody, fierce and filled with adrenaline.

As we share in a reminder every morning, “This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can’t be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won’t be done. The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.”

I can assure you of only this,if we do not stand victorious it will not be because Donald J. Trump left anything on the battlefield.

2024 is MAGA burning the ships behind us. This one is for all the marbles. This is not a place where tepid half-measures and gentlemanly pastels will suffice.Get right with God, put on the armor, absorb the focus of fightinglike the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark, and get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Our ally is anyone who stands beside us, right now. Our enemy is anyone who doesn’t.

The new sons and daughters of the revolution are going to look completely different. The Green Dragon Tavern may be a church, a picnic table or a tailgate. The assembly is not focused on the labels of the assembled. We do not have time for that. The mission is the purpose. The fight is wherever it surfaces. Delicate sensibilities must be dispatched like a feather in a hurricane.
