Big win for James O'Keefe!
Anon has recently researched 24x7 recording apps.
A couple look interesting, but they have "rolling recordings" e.g., it records the last day, and once a day has gone by, starts deleting from the beginning as more is recorded. User can say "save this portion of what was recorded" (if within last 24 hours!), but cannot say, "save everything."
What anon wants, and hasn't seen, and is willing to pay for, perhaps even willing to help create: is a similar app, but one which continually saves the recording.
If device space gets low, it can upload old recordings and delete them.
The upload would be able to handle various methods, e.g., "ftp to user-owned datastore" and could also sell its own cloud space, but anon would prefer it encourages "personal" backups so they can't be deleted (or copied) by others.
Also when plugged in to recharge, could upload. Or when "near" user's wifi/main computer – one goal being, to automate as much as possible, so user doesn't have to do anything other than set it up.
User can then review any audio portion of their life, after setting it up.
We can hear you breathing??? kek
Video seems a bit trickier, since a phone is often in a pocket or holster. So would probably start with an audio-only solution, and perhaps add video later? Or have a switch, on-screen, to turn video on. And have it not record the video if all it sees is darkness (would impact the battery, but not storage space).
Any way to get this idea to James O'Keefe? Anon loves what he's doing.
