The business began in 1884 as Schaible's Bakery in Easton before moving to the current site at 2400 Northampton St. in 1920. It used to produce Sunbeam brand bread before its sale to Reading-based Maier's in 1975. Under Bimbo, the bakery continued to produce Maier's brand bread and buns for about 10 years, shutting down in March 2014.
