The truth is, is that these social websites that allow users to publish unlimited audio, video, and images require huge bandwidth, server, resources, hard drive space, cost of facilities ad utilities to bring it all together. There is no possible way that advertisement pays the bills especially when you consider how little it cost to advertise on these platforms respectively. Have any of you ever bought something off of one of those adds? Even if you did, the amount of ads that you see vs the profit made off of one of your purchases wouldn't even cover the bandwidth that it takes to give you all that rich media of video, audio, and images.
Even since the Global Crossing scam these DARPA funded big tech companies flourished and we were left renting their expensive cloud services or paying big bucks to telecom providers. I want my free unlimited DARPA bandwidth and resources to level the playing fields. You cannot bullshit a programmer, these companies would all go under in a heartbeat if they had to pay the same price we do because ads do not add up.
