Canada is imposing tarrifs on foreign steel, from China, Russia, etc. fearing (((their))) market will be flooded with cheap steel that was intended for the US but will be diverted due to US tarrifs on steel! EU reported to be taking similar protective measures.
So what? Twofold:

US tarrifs on China, et al, are forcing other prime, western countries to create similar protective tariffs, exponentially decreasing China's trade surplus with global partners, weaking their abilities to export goods and transfer wealth from the US.

These protective tariffs from Canada/EU reinforce POTUS and OUR desires to put our nation first. Canada and EU don't want cheap goods flooding their markets, thus the tariffs, which takes away their argument that the US is engaging in unfair protectionist trade strategy….they are too, and for the same reasons.
