UNITED stopped using 747s 7 months before Q drop 1679. Can planefags identify the United 747 in Q drop 1679? United only had 44 747s in various configs. This one may be odd in that the upper deck windows are either blocked by the window frame, or there aren't any. This could eliminate a large portion of the fleet, if we exclude the cargo variants which have no windows.

If the 747 in the Q pic has windows below but no windows for the upper deck it would make the plane very different from the normal passenger variants.

>'United_HK' begins the filename. Hong Kong may be clue in identifying the aircraft.

Noice. Thanks, anon. Most 747s were used for international flights. One exception was Japan that liked to load their inter-island flights.

Guess we could look for United international flights to HK. (Before Nov. 2018 that is.)

Thanks again, anon.

I rememb that sad incident.

Re the timeframe for being able to see a United 747 with that paint scheme (livery), unfortunately it might be between May 2010 and November 2017. Now the HK pic though may have details to narrow the time much further- if anon haven't already. But at least we can confirm the plane's livery betw 5/2010 to 11/2017 would match anon's obs on the HK street view.

That looks like an earlier livery (paint job)? No prob with that but seems like it has upper deck windows. The one in the Q pic I can't see upper deck windows. May be an optical illusion with a couple of windows obscurred by the airport lounge window frame? Q pic plane def has lower deck windows though.

Thanks. It may be we can look up the tail numbers to: 1) eliminate the cargo planes

2) find pics of the passenger planes to find one that matches the windows in Q pic,

3) (may be asking a lot but) find routes of planes that could be matches.

There were only 44 of them.

Thanks, anon.
