>Detectable Levels of Benzene Noted in Some Sunscreen Batches

>“There is not a safe level of benzene that can exist in sunscreen products,” said Christopher Bunick, MD, PhD, associate professor of dermatology at Yale

chemprofanon here… this is weapons-grade baloneyium. i don't care how many "trusted sources" tell you benzene is a carcinogen, it's a lie. it was commonly used as a solvent in many industries and it was not uncommon for workers to wash their hands in benzene multiple times daily. there was NEVER any epidemiological evidence presented to show ANY increase of ANY type of cancers in these workers compared to the gen pop. the "determination" of carcinogenicity was all based on specious lab tests on bacteria and mice bred to be immunocompromised. it's all bullshit. the assertion that 0.1 ppm poses an unacceptable risk is so ludicrous that even the most illiterate should recognize the absurdity.

you SHOULD avoid sunscreens, but NOT for the reasons stated in this consumer reports hit piece. the UV absorber in many sunscreens BECOMES carcinogenic AFTER it absorbs sunlight. some sunscreens are simple inorganic "paint" such as zinc oxide, which are relatively safe. but many use organic UV absorbers which are converted into free radicals when they absorb a UV photon.

spirituality is a transcendental experience of the divine.

religion is crowd control, and a tool to trick the unwashed masses into murdering each other for the profit of their rulers.

maybe look at post IDs before you ASSume the person replying to your reply is the same person you replied to.

you wasted a lot of energy in a childish name-calling war with a completely different person.

also, learn to spell.

>trust the science

the ACTUAL science has NOT changed from the predictions of global cooling that were common 50-60 yrs ago. those predictions are still valid, and data accumulated in the interim support them. we are currently IN an ice age. within the larger ice ages there are shorter cycles of glacial expansion and retreat, each lasting about 15,000 yrs. we are on the precipice of another 15,000 yrs of glacial expansion that will end with most of CONUS covered with ice three miles thick. those projections remain on track. NCSWIC. not even accelerating the burning of fossil fuels.

>nobody ever mentions the deforestation of the North American continent over the last two centuries as a factor.

IF any human activity can actually have a detectable effect on climate, global deforestation MIGHT be the leading candidate.

>or all the billions of water heaters, clothes dryers and air conditioner compressors and condensers.

those do not amount to a fart in a windstorm. we need to increase consumption of fossil fuels for multiple reasons…

first, and foremost, to replenish CO2 levels before photosynthesis collapses, because we are dangerously close to that.
