WA Police officer charged with multiple child sex offences against teenage girl

A WA Police officer has been charged with multiple child sex offences allegedly committed against a 13-year-old girl.

Detectives from the Sex Assault Squad have charged the 48-year-old senior constable with 17 offences, including seven counts of indecently dealing with a child, and six counts of sexually penetrating a child, of or over 13.

It will be alleged that between 2009 and 2012 the officer committed the offences against the girl, who was 13 years old at the time they started.

The man works in regional WA.

Police say he was stood down at the time they received the complaint.

The man is due to appear before the Perth Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

The $89.95 winter jackets are not compulsory to wear or purchase, and are a secondary option to the standard ‘softshell’ jacket.

The Victorian Education Department has stated that the decision to bring in the uniform item was made by the school’s council, which is made up of both parents and students.

Despite this fact, the move has been slammed by some furious parents, who say that it is “forcing a political agenda” on to their children.

Speaking on the Today show, host Karl Stefanovic said he sympathised with upset parents and described the move as an “unnecessary complication”.
