If Alien life could travel here, faster than light, why would they even concern themselves with humans.

They would have no reason at all to remain hidden from mankind. They could come in and devastate every civilization and experience zero loses. No need for "Agreements" no need for any cooperation.
After years of consideration of the topic, the only reason they would have to manipulate mankind would be to have the humans dispose of themselves in a convenient manner and location. That is about as good as it gets.
