I was unable to email the pic of the Jet Blue with vehicles around it from JFK. Yahoo just said "the email could not be sent", I believe that was the message. Other emails unrelated were working fine.

We've had Flight Management Systems that could taxi, take off, fly, communicate with ATC and follow ATC instructions, land and taxi to gate. Since the MD-11 in about 1990.
I don't know. Perhaps not much. They said it's the first "digital fly-by-wire" which I guess means more digital and less analog. Although the Flight Control System (the thing that controls the flaps etc. in real time, to implement commands from the Flight Management System) on the MD-11 certainly used digital and CPU's.
