Saw a strange line of lights in the sky tonight. (9:30-10:00 MST) Could have been starlink but the lights were very close together. As I was watching it going across the sky (NW to SE) the light in front faded and each light after faded until it was no longer visible. Within a second of full dimming a bright flash occurred perpendicular to the extrapolated flight path.

I could accept that it was starlink but the bright flash of light was odd.
