Sorry DOD, this picture bothers me as a martial artist. Hope it is just optics and not real training. Here is what is wrong:
You could never properly control an arm that way. The assailant is still on balance and winding up another punch and could easily lower and slice, which is a natural reaction, then punch. Plus the defenders arms are crossed as he stands from the side which is much weaker position than the opponent. The defenders head is too forward which means he can only move in one direction, towards the assailant probably with a back-fist as his only effective strike. Where is the fight?
