True story. Hwy 441, just outside the west gate of Shaw AFB, SC approx. 1987. There was a very popular Asian restaurant which are always popular near USAF bases. Family pets had been going missing for some time in local neighborhood. Routine health dept investigation finds numerous pets (dogs/cats) in cages in kitchen of said restaurant. Place was permanently closed down but yeah, sheople were eating local pets.
I seem to recall some kind of punishment but anon avoided chink food like the plague so it was not really on my radar. I just recall it because I always avoided those places. I know it was in the local paper. Sumter Daily Item IIRC.
I don't recall the specific Asian cuisine involved but high likelihood it was Korean. Filipino, or Thai. This was due to many USAF personnel being stationed at USAF bases in those countries,countries
