Ammo depot in Crimea targeted by Ukrainian drones

An evacuation was ordered after over a dozen remote-controlled aircraft were engaged by air defenses

A Russian ammunition depot in Crimea was hit in an overnight Ukrainian drone raid, the region’s head, Sergey Aksyonov has announced. TheDefense Ministry said the military had brought down 17 UAVs in total, while both sources claimed on Monday morning that no casualties had been suffered during the defensive operation.

The military downed most of the Ukrainian aircraft using electronic signal defense systems. Eleven drones failed to reach Crimea and fell into the Black Sea, three came down on land and three were reportedly 'shot down.'

The damage to the depot in Jankoy districtappears to be the most significant result of the night raid. Aksyonov said his administration decided to evacuate people from a 5km radius of the military site and suspend train and road traffic as a precaution. One of the crashed drones damaged private property, the official added.

A separate drone attack took place overnight in the Russian capital, Moscow, where two UAVs crashed into commercial buildings. No casualties were reported.

Mikhail Fedorov, Ukraine’s digital transformation minister, apparently took credit for both raids on behalf of his country. In a social media post, he pledged that there will be “more of those” in the future.

Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow is ‘international terrorism’ – Foreign Ministry

Two UAVs crashed into buildings in the Russian capital, with fragments reportedly found not far from the Defense Ministry

The attempted Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow early Monday morning, which damaged several non-residential buildings, is “an act of international terrorism,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

The spokeswoman condemned the attack on Monday morning while speaking to RTVI TV. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry said Ukraine attempted to stage “a terrorist attack”against Moscowusing two drones, which were suppressed by electronic warfare systems.

TASS reported that several UAV fragments were found in Komsomolsky Prospekt in the center of the city, not far from the Defense Ministry HQ. Another UAV crashed into a business center in the southern part of the capital, smashing windows, the agency added. The city authorities said that traffic in both areas was temporarily halted but that there were no reports of casualties or serious damage.

Kiev applauded the raid, with Mikhail Fedorov, Ukraine’s minister for digital transformation, promising that “there will be more” of these incidents.

Amid the conflict with Russia, Kiev has previously tried to launch drone raids on Moscow and its suburbs. Earlier this month, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defenses downed four drones in the southeastern districts of the capital, and another UAV was neutralized by electronic warfare systems west of Moscow.

In early May, Ukraine launched an attack on the Kremlin residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin with two drones, which were suppressed by electronic warfare systems. Moscow accused Kiev of staging an assassination attempt, an allegation denied by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

Western bureaucracy affected Kiev’s counteroffensive – UK expert

Ukraine’s backers were too slow, allowing Russia to build up defenses, Jack Watling from the Royal United Services Institute says

Ukraine’s much-anticipated counteroffensive against Russia was undercut by delays in Western military assistance and bureaucracy, a British military expert claimed in an article released on Sunday. He also warned that the West “will pay the price” unless it ditches its “peacetime approach” to aiding Ukraine.

Writing for The Observer, Jack Watling, a senior research fellow for land warfare at the Royal United Services Institute, claimed the West had made a number of serious mistakes in setting the stage for Ukraine’s counteroffensive, which so far has failed to gain any ground, according to Moscow.

According to Watling, Ukraine clearly communicated to Western capitals what it needed to succeed on the battlefield as early as last year, requesting artillery, engineering capability, protected mobility, air defense systems, and personnel training. However, while Kiev received sufficient artillery and protected mobility, it had a much harder time getting other items on the list, he said.

The West did not approve the delivery of heavy tanks and infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine until January 2023, despite the fact that Kiev had requested this assistance for months, Watling noted. “Months of delays gave Russian forces time to build their defenses, significantly complicating the task for the Ukrainians.”

Another problem was that much of the training provided to Kiev by the West was “poorly designed,” according to Watling. While conducting exercises in Western countries, Kiev’s units were unable to “train as you fight”because they could not fly their drones due to legal constraints and use their own software that’s not certified by NATO.

In addition, while Western militaries did their best to adapt to the Ukraine conflict, other government branches were lagging behind, the senior research fellow said, noting that, while the strain on NATO stockpiles has been evident since July 2022, “NATO countries have been sluggish in expanding munitions production.”

Ukraine’s forces went on a large-scale counteroffensive against Russia in the early days of June, but all of their attacks have failed with heavy losses, according to the Defense Ministry in Moscow. On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Kiev had lost more than 26,000 troops since the start of the counteroffensive.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has admitted to having difficulties, saying the counteroffensive is developing “slower than desired.” He attempted to shift the blame for the apparent failures to the West, saying that Ukraine did not receive enough munitions, weaponry, and training.

(So Ukraine was pushed into war when they never had a standing army prepared, so the West really didn’t care if they succeeded. They just wanted to delay the end. Scott Ritter has been saying from the beginning there’s no way they can win this war, they are not trained, cannot handle the Wests equipment without destroying it immediately, so that means our Generals all knew they would lose. And now some UK expert is trying to prompt the West get into this war, makes no sense.)

Millionaire ex-Ukrainian conscription boss arrested

The former Odessa military official allegedly used illicit gains to fund multimillion dollar purchases in Spain

A senior Ukrainian military officer formerly responsible for conscription in Odessa Region was arrested in Kiev on Monday, days after being charged with illicit enrichment to the tune of millions of dollars.

Evgeny Borisovhad been on the run for two days having been named as a chief suspect in a report. However his attempts to conceal his whereabouts by changing phone numbers, cars, and locations proved futile, Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigations announced.

Last Wednesday, the head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAPK), Aleksandr Novikov, identified Borisov as an allegedly record-breaking criminal, who had gained some $5.1 million in illicit profits while in office. The officer had been relieved from his position last month but remained in the ranks of the Ukrainian military at the time of the NAPK press briefing.

Borisov lost his job shortly after the Skhemy project, a Ukrainian investigativemedia outlet, reported that his family owned real estate and luxury cars in Spain. On Saturday, Skhemy published an update of its investigation.

It claimed that the status of the property, worth over $4 million, remained unchanged two months after journalists first identified it. Ownership was in the name of Borisov’s family members, including his mother and wife, but was reportedly not mentioned in the transparency disclosure forms he is obliged to complete as a state official.

Later on Saturday, the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office reported it had launched a criminal investigation into alleged improper enrichment by Borisov. He was also accused of crossing the national border under false pretenses in late 2022.

The official spent about a month with his family members in several high-end international locations, including the Seychelles, the report said. Ukraine has strict border controls amid the armed conflict with Russia specifying that military service age men need special permission to go abroad.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has ordered that Borisov be sacked from the military and that the government conducts a sweeping check of conscription centers nationwide.

The activities of those centers have been controversial in Ukraine, which is conducting a rolling mobilization to sustain its war effort. Numerous videos circulating online show men being rounded up, including by force, for enlistment.

Ex-Russian president suggests surprise response to Ukrainian drone attacks

Moscow could strike “non-typical targets” beyond military warehouses and energy infrastructure, Dmitry Medvedev has said

Ukraine is carrying out attacks on civilian targetsin Russia in order to divert attention from its floundering counteroffensive, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has claimed. Commenting hours after Ukrainian drones attempted to strike targets in Moscow and Crimea, Medvedev suggested that Russia’s response should be “unexpected.”

Medvedev, who currently serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, wrote on Telegram on Monday thatUkraine was starvedof any military success andneeded to score “informational wins, even if bogus and bloated.”

“That’s why the [Ukrainian] Nazis and the population recruited by them also find strikes on civilian facilities acceptable,” Medvedev stated. He also claimed there are rising concerns among the Ukrainian public and cited the “impatience” of Kiev’s “Western masters” for battlefield victories.

“Therefore, the Bandera bastards increasingly choose peaceful, civilian targets for their vile attacks. Everyone should be ready for this,”Medvedev warned, referring to the infamous Ukrainian Nazi collaborator during World War II.

We need to choose non-typical targets for our strikes. Not only warehouses, energy hubs, and oil bases. There are other places where they are not expecting us yet. And where the effect will be very significant.

Medvedev’s remarks followed an attempted Ukraine drone strike on Moscow on Monday morning. The incident involved two UAVs which were suppressed by electronic warfare measures and crashed into non-residential buildings. The attack did not result in any casualties or serious damage, officials said.

The same day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that a Ukrainian UAV attack had hit an ammunition depot in Crimea, adding that Moscow’s forces had downed a total of 17 drones.

Although Ukrainian officials have not officially claimed responsibility for the raids, Mikhail Fedorov, the country’s digital transformation minister, hinted at Kiev’s involvement and promised “more of those” incidents in future.

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the raids as “another criminal act by the Kiev regime” and said they were pointless from a military standpoint.Moscow “reserves the right to harsh retaliatory measures,” the ministry added.

Trump Leads with DeSantis Falling to Third Place in Latest South Carolina Poll

July 23, 2023 | Sundance

This poll seems to align with the previous forecast predictions. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has spent a great deal of time in South Carolina over the past two weeks. The result, he’s dropped from second to third place. The more voters get to see DeSantis, the lower his in-state polling becomes.

DISCLAIMER – South Carolina is an open primary, vulnerable to Big Club shenanigans.

President Trump has a clear lead in the Palmetto state at 48% according to the latest Fox (Shaw Research) poll [DATA HERE]. Nikki Haley has entered first loser position at 14%, followed closely by Ron DeSantis at 13% and Tim Scott at 10%.

Candidate I Don’t Know (4%) is now ahead of Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie and Asa Hutchinson. While Gas Station Sushi is polling ahead of Doug Burgum, Larry Elder, Will Hurd and Francis Suarez

At 48%, President Donald Trump is 16 points higher in the polls than he was when he won the South Carolina primary in 2016.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK – The latest Harvard Harris national poll [DATA HERE] shows Donald Trump beating Joe Biden 45% to 39%, which includes President Trump holding a massive 18-point advantage with independent voters 45% to 27%.

Meanwhile the New York Times is reportingthe controversial anti-Trump attack ad portraying Ron DeSantis as the slayer of the alphabet people was actually created by the campaign, likely inspired by the direction of Ms. Christina Pushaw who has been conspicuously quiet since the rebranding huggy phase began.

[…] One recent move that drew intense blowback, including from Republicans, was the campaign’s sharing of a bizarre video on Twitter that attacked Mr. Trump as too friendly to L.G.B.T.Q. people and showed Mr. DeSantis with lasers coming out of his eyes. The video drew a range of denunciations, with some calling it homophobic and others homoerotic before it was deleted.

But it turns out to be more of a self-inflicted wound than was previously known:A DeSantis campaign aide had originally produced the video internally, passing it off to an outside supporterto post it first and making it appear as if it was generated independently, according to a person with knowledge of the incident. The DeSantis campaign declined to comment on specific questions about its spending, the candidate’s travel and the video. (link)

The DeSantis campaign has turned to the Utah Mormon community looking for financial assistance.

Politico – Top officials on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s campaign acknowledged to donors on Sunday that they’d spent too much money and that further changes would be made as they look to recover from a disappointing start, according to three people who were present for the discussion.

Appearing before around 70 of the campaign’s top contributors at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah, DeSantis’ campaign manager Generra Peck said money had been spent on operations that had turned out to be ineffective and that the campaign would move to a leaner, “insurgent” posture going forward. Among the changes being made were to “expose” voters to DeSantis more, said Nick Iarossi, a Florida-based lobbyist and fundraiser who was at the event. (read more) Kek! That won’t help him!

Swedish Court Convicts Greta Thunberg For Truck-Blocking Protest

Oliver JJ Lane24 Jul 2023

Greta Thunberg will have to pay a small fine after being convicted of disobeying a lawful order of the authorities to stop blocking a road earlier this year, an outcome she has decried as “absurd”.

Those who burn fossil fuels should be in court, not those who fight against them, climate celebrity Greta Thunberg said today as she was handed a criminal record in a Swedish court for a protest action earlier this year. Thunberg was ordered to pay 50 kronor, or £3.75/$4.80 a day every day for 30 days. In all, the fine will add up to just £112, or $144.

It was previously reported she could have faced months of prison time, underlining the leniency of the fine.

The activist blocked traffic by sitting in the road with a group of other young people in the port city of Malmo in June, part of a series of disruptions over several days. While police initially stood by and watched, eventually it was judged the disruption being caused was too great and the protesters were asked to leave. Those who did not were carried away by officers, and charged with disobeying an order.

Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports that Thunberg was scathing of her conviction, meaning for the first time in years of protests she now has a criminal record. She told the court on Monday that: “My actions are justifiable. I believe that we are in an emergency that threatens life, health and property… We are in a climate emergency and we don’t want to wait for someone to act. We chose to block oil trucks.”

Speaking to a considerable gaggle of photographers waiting for her outside the court after the verdict, Thunberg criticised the prosecution, saying that oil companies are the true criminals. She said, vowing to keep protesting: “It is absurd that those who act according to the science should pay the price for it… While those who burn the fossil fuels do not have to be held accountable.”

Note Cards, Early Nights, Less Stairs, Vacations: How Biden’s Age Impacts His Campaign

Simon Kent24 Jul 2023

Octogenarian President Joe Biden is getting ready to hit the road for his run at the 2024 election and already his aides are making sure his efforts are in keeping with an 80-year-old who critics say is just too old for the highest office in the land.

Three NBC news reporters – Carol E. Lee, Peter Nicholas and Monica Alba – had a piece published Mondaydetailing a host of modifications to Biden’s day-to-day scheduling designed to limit the possibility of him failingto deliver in public. They noted:

Joe Biden’s aides realized they had a problem last month when the president tripped over a sandbag — hard — at the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony. Afterward, a few huddled to figure out what may have gone wrong and how to make sure that such an embarrassing and dangerous incident “never happens again,” according to two people familiar with the discussion.

“You can’t be too careful,” one said.

The piece does note Biden has previously addressed concerns his age is a factor against him, simply offering “Watch me” by way of confident response.

The public evidence of his age works against such confidence, with the piece going on to state, “His gait is less steady, his speech not as fluid. He has confused Iraq with Ukraine and Rolling Fork, Mississippi, with “Rolling Stone.”

At other times he simply has problems identifying fellow public figures.

White House

“The Democratic Party needs to be responsive to what people are saying about Biden and their concerns that they have with his age,” said one congressional Democrat, speaking on condition of anonymity to talk freely about the president’s fitness, as quoted by the NBC article.

“The number of text messages that I got after the president fell … I mean, my phone was blowing up. People are like, ‘Oh, this is so bad.’”

Alarm bells rang for many when Biden was seen falling UP the stairs to Air Force One, as Breitbart News reported back in 2021.

C-SPAN

The NBC piece goes on to quote one observer who sees a man struggling to match his ambitions with the onset of physical frailty that would impact anyone in the same age cohort:

“Physically, he’s quite frail and he falls off his bicycle, or whatever,” said a former Western diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity to talk more freely. “He doesn’t have the stamina levels of an Obama or a younger president. People worry about his physical frailty and running from age 82 to 86” — the age Biden would be at the end of a second term. “That is really old by European standards. Really, really old. We don’t have anyone that age.”

Earlier this month Biden shunned fellow world leaders and skipped a NATO leadership dinner, with the White House citing the president’s workload for retiring early to his hotel in Vilnius, Lithuania, as Breitbart News reported.

Biden, who had only been in Europe for 48-hours and spent at day on the beach relaxing before departure, had Secretary of State Antony Blinken attend in his place.

It was the third time the 80-year-old has skipped a dinner with world leaders while on an international trip, Fox News reported.

(They saw this all before the last election, what took them so long? He’s gonna do it from his basement again!)

Exclusive – Sen. Josh Hawley on Coldwater Creek Contamination: Government Has Been ‘Lying for Years’

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) accused the federal government of “lying for years” aboutradioactive waste contaminating Coldwater Creek in St. Louis, Missouri, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News last Sunday.

Documents obtained by a parent group and shared with media outlets revealed that Coldwater Creek is contaminated bynuclear waste left over from the effort to build the first atomic bombduring World War II. As the Associated Press reported, the federal government and companies responsible for nuclear bomb production “were aware of health risks, spills, improperly stored contaminants and other problems but often ignored them.” Federal health investigators have since found “an increased cancer risk for some people who, as children, played in a creek contaminated with uranium waste,” the report states.

“[The government] got away with it just by lying for years. They were the only ones, the federal government, that had the studies. This dates back to the Manhattan Project. St. Louis was a major uranium processing center,” Sen. Hawley said during an interview in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the 2023 Turning Point Action Conference.

“But what the government did after that was they just essentially dumped the uranium and the waste material into the creek, into the ground soil, and then they lied about it for years,” he added. “They knew from at least the 70s that they had a major contamination issue, and they’ve lied about it and kept it under wraps. But now, thanks to a group of brave mothers, who got 15,000 documents in FOIA requests, what [the government] has done is coming to light.”…

‘Continues To Break The Rules’: FBI Improperly Searched Surveillance Data On Senator, Court Docs Reveal

THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INTELLIGENCE (FBI) CARRIED OUT IMPROPER SURVEILLANCE ON MULTIPLE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, ACCORDING TO COURT DOCUMENTS RELEASED FRIDAY.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) issued an opinion stating that the FBI improperly used powers granted under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to gather information on an unnamed United States senator and other state officials after a petition was submitted by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), according to Just The News. Section 702 of FISA grants the FBI considerable surveillance powers against foreign targets.

“In June 2022, an analyst conducted four queries of Section 702 information using the last names of a U.S. Senator and a state senator, without further limitation,” the court said in the opinion, according to The Hill.A municipal judge’s social security number was used to query the 702 databasein October after the judge reportedly took issue with a local police chief, according to the opinion.

“These disturbing new revelations show how Section 702 surveillance, a spy program the government claims is focused on foreign adversaries, is routinely used against Americans, immigrants, and people who are not accused of any wrongdoing,” Patrick Toomey of the ACLU told The Hill.

“The FBI continues to break the rules put in place to protect Americans, running illegal searches on public officials including a U.S. senator, and it’s long past time for Congress to step in,” Toomey said, according to Just the News. “As Congress debates reauthorizing Section 702, these opinions make clear why fundamental reforms are urgently needed.”

The FBI previously admitted over 275,000 instances of improper use of the 702 database following the release of an April 2022 opinion. The FBI has faced accusations that the agency has become politicized in cases involving pro-life advocates and parents protesting at school board meetings, and was involved in censorship following reportsbased on documents released to journalist Matt Taibbi by Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter.

The FBI told the Daily Caller NewsFoundation that “It is important to note neither the U.S. Senator nor the state senator were surveilled, and no new information was collected on either of them.” (Kek, lie, lie and lie again. That was not the point, FBI is not allowed to put US citizens names into the system.)

U.S. to Aid Ukraine in Countering Bioweapons

JoAugust 30, 2005

The United States and Ukraine agreed yesterday to work jointly to prevent the spread of biological weapons, signing a pact that clears the way for Ukraine's government to receive U.S. aid to improve security at facilities where dangerous microbes are kept.

The agreement, the result of more than a year of negotiations, was announced by Sens. Richard G. Lugar (R-Ind.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) during a visit to the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. The senators credited Ukraine's reformist leaders, ushered into power by last fall's Orange Revolution, with breaking bureaucratic resistance to the pact.

One lab to receive funding is the I.I. Mechnikov Antiplague Scientific and Research Institute, in the Black Sea port city of Odessa. The institute was part of a Cold War network of "antiplague" stations that supplied highly lethal pathogens to Soviet bioweapons factories.

"This agreement will allow us to begin addressing the problems faced by theOdessa antiplague institute and places like it,”said Mark Helmke, a staff member for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which Lugar chairs. Under the pact, theUnited States will fund security upgrades at key Ukrainian biological institutesand supportpeaceful researchby Ukrainian scientists to fight the spread of natural diseases, Helmke said. The amount of funding has not been determined.

The senators' visit to Russia and Ukraine was disrupted Sunday when local authorities refused to allow the delegation's military plane to leave Perm, a city in Russia's Ural Mountains. The officials demanded that they be allowed to search the plane, then relented after several hours and allowed the aircraft to proceed to Ukraine, a spokesman for Lugar said. Yesterday, Russia's Foreign Ministry formally apologized for the incident.

Viktor Yushchenko, left, the president of Ukraine, greets Sens. Richard G. Lugar, center, and Barack Obama during their visit to the capital, Kiev.

Was Trump trying to see if Zelensky was in on it, obviously he was. So Trump verified everything Rudy knew and he knew Zelensky was in on it. Remember Zelensky while with Trump on the WH, and Z got pissy and agitated when Trump said he was sending weapons there even though there’s a lot of corruption in Ukraine.
