Biden DOJ to let Delaware prosecutor testify about Hunter Biden tax probe

Decision comes as Hunter Biden's former business partner prepares to testify next Monday before Congress

The Biden Justice Department on Monday informed Congress it will allow Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss to testify about the Hunter Biden tax case, a major concession but one that still leaves open a subpoena fight over other witnesses and evidence.

The announcement was delivered in a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and came the same day that congressional investigators secured a formal date for Hunter Biden's former close business partner Devon Archer to testify next Monday. The House Oversight Committee will conduct that transcribed interview.

File

Weiss-Jordan letter

DOJ said it wanted Weiss to testify so he could address allegations from two IRS whistleblowers that he did not have the authority to indict Hunter Biden on felony tax charges dating to 2014 and that there was political interference in the probe before the first son struck a plea deal on two misdemeanor tax charges.

"The Department believes it is strongly in the public interest for the American people and for Congress to hear directly from U.S. Attorney Weiss on these assertions and questions about his authority at a public hearing," the letter to Jordan said.

"To address these issues, U.S. Attorney Weiss is available to appear at a public hearing before the Committee, consistent with the law and Department policy, after the House returns from its August district work period," it added.

While making a concession on Weiss, the department also signaled it may not let other DOJ officials, including Weiss' deputy Leslie Wolf, testify or turn over all the documents sought by Jordan's team.

The letter said the department was "deeply concerned by your notification today that the Committee has authorized deposition subpoenas for the individuals identified in your letter. Any attempts at compulsory process are unjustified and premature," it said.

FLASHBACK: Former Bush/Clinton White House Chef Drowned in 2015

The recent drowning of former White House and Obama personal chef Tafari Campbell marks the second time a former White House chef has died by drowning within the last decade.

Back in 2015, Former White House chef for Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Walter Scheib went missing while hiking outside the city of Taos, New Mexico.

According to authorities, Scheib went missing after hiking in the Taos Ski Valley, located about 10 miles outside of Taos.

After several days of searching, Scheib’s dead body was found by an emergency rescue team and a state medical examiner confirmed it was likely he died by drowning.

The hiking trail Scheib was on was known to have flash floodings and mudslides during the summer months.

ABC reported on the story in 2015:

Former White House chef Walter Scheib likely died from drowning on his hike outside of Taos, New Mexico, more than 10 days ago, authorities concluded today.

A state medical examiner completed the investigation into Scheib’s death today following the discovery of his body Sunday night, roughly 30 yards from the hiking trail where his car was last seen.

Thunderstorms were reported in the area where Scheib decided to hike on the day he was last seen, according to weather reports. The mountainous area is also prone to flash flooding, land, and rock slides, according to New Mexico State Police Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo.

Scheib, 61, was last seen on June 13 heading to hike a trail in the Taos Ski Valley 10 miles outside of Taos.

Zelensky Associate Was Present at Biden Bribery Meetings – Then Went to Work for President Zelensky Who Now Is Holding Blackmail Information Against Joe Biden

Author Peter Schweizer went on with Jesse Watters on Monday night where he proceeded to drop another bomb on the Biden Crime Family.

According to Schweizer, who wrote a best-seller “Secret Empires” on the Biden Family crimes, told Jesse that one of Vlodomyr Zelensky’s top officials was sitting in the room when they were discussing bribing the Bidens, Joe and Hunter.

Ukrainian President Zelensky has a top official who was sitting in on meetings where they talked about bribing the Bidens.

Schweizer suggests Zelensky is using this as leverage over the Biden regime for weapons and billions in US dollars.

atients”

Peter Schweizer: We’ve been at this since 2018.

** They initially said there were no foreign deals.

** Then they shifted and said there were. There might have been foreign deals, but the Bidens made no money.

** Then it became Joe Biden didn’t know about any of the deals.

** Then it became Joe Biden didn’t participate in any of the deals.

** And now it’s that he was not in business with his son.

Look, the implications for this are huge, Jesse.

If you look at that 1023 form that the FBI released, if that document is true, that document reveals that one of the people that was at those meetings that heard the conversations about bribing the Bidens worked for – President Zelensky. Who really wants to believe, if that meeting took place and that document is accurate, that that individual did not go and report to President Zelensky what he heard?

And again, if that document is true, who wants to believe that President Zelensky and his administration have not used that as leverage over Joe Biden when it comes to negotiations on Ukraine policy?

We may all have to start learning the Ukrainian word for compromise because this is a very clear indication of how this has shaped this administration’s policy towards Ukraine and also towards China.

It is also convenient for Zelensky that there is not a team of US auditors in his country tracking where all of this money went.

Burisma Lobbyists Recommended By Hunter Biden Didn't Disclose Over $400,000 In Payments, Testimony Shows

Blue Star Strategies, an international lobbying firm recommended by Hunter Biden to Ukrainian energy company Burisma, failed to disclose an estimated $480,000 in payments from the firm, testimony from IRS whistleblower Joseph Ziegler shows.

Burisma paid Blue Star Strategies for lobbying beginning in November 2015 and the firm disclosed $60,000 worth of payments in its May 2022 Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) registration form, significantly less than the total Blue Star was paid by Burisma, according to Ziegler’s testimony to the House Ways and Means Committee on June 1.

“Beginning in November 2015 and continuing through the relevant period of 2016, Blue Star Strategies, registrant, was working on behalf of Burisma Holdings Limited (Burisma), a Ukrainian energy company, to further its commercial interests. Mr. Zlochevsky was a principal of Burisma at that time. Registrant was asked in 2016 to help schedule meetings with U.S. Government officials so counsel for Mr. Zlochevsky could present an explanation of certain adverse proceedings in the U.K. and Ukraine involving Mr. Zlochevsky,” Blue Star’s FARA form reads.

In February 2016, Blue Star lobbyists introduced State Department official Amos Hochstein to Zlochevsky’s attorney and the next month, Blue Star introduced Zlochevsky’s attorney to former State Department official, Catherine Novelli, the FARA form shows.

Blue Star allegedly invoked Hunter Biden’s ties to Burisma when they requested to meet with Novelli, according to a Senate report from 2020. Both of the meetings were about Zlochevsky’s legal proceedings in the U.K. and Ukraine, Blue Star said. The Washington Free Beacon previously reported the FARA disclosure.

Burisma paid Blue Star $30,000 in March and May 2016, and a limited portion of each payment was allocated to the firm for arranging the meetings with State Department officials, according to the form. Ziegler testified to the House Ways and Means Committee that Burisma paid Blue Star $540,000 for its lobbying efforts.

Hunter Biden endorsed Blue Star’s abilities when the firm was negotiating its contract with Burisma in November 2015, emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop archive show.

Hunter Biden emailed Burisma executive Vadim Pozharskyi on Nov. 3, 2015, about his plan to call Blue Star to ensure they were on the same page about strategy, the archive shows. Pozharskyi had emailed Biden and his associates the day before about pursuing a more aggressive lobbying strategy on Pozharskyi’s behalf, including meetings with “widely recognized and influential” U.S. officials.

ASIC accuses $11 trillion investment giant Vanguard of greenwashing

The corporate regulator will take investment giant Vanguard to court over greenwashing allegations related to the group’s ethically conscious bond index fund.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) said on Tuesday it had launched proceedings against Vanguard in the Federal Court. One of the world’s biggest investment managers, Vanguard has $11 trillion in assets under management globally.

ASIC defines greenwashing as “the practice of misrepresenting the extent to which a financial product or investment strategy is environmentally friendly, sustainable or ethical.”

The regulator claims the firm’s screening process for one of its funds was more limited than what had been represented to investors, and that consumers who had a stake in the fund may have been exposed to investments with ties to fossil fuels despite the company pledging to exclude these.

Vanguard said on Tuesday it had identified and self-reported a breach in relation to disclosures for its Vanguard Ethically Conscious Global Aggregate Bond Index Fund and ETF in 2021. As of February 26, 2021, the total funds or assets under management of the fund was over $1 billion.

Loading

“There was never any intention to mislead, but Vanguard recognises it has not lived up to the high standards it holds itself accountable to and apologises for the concern this matter may cause for our clients,” the company said in a statement.

ASIC’s greenwashing case centres on the methodology that Vanguard used to research the environmental, social and governance credentials of investments with the aim of screening out ones that did not fit with the fund’s aim.

The fund was marketed to investors wanting ethically conscious investments, and Vanguard had claimed the index did not include businesses in a range of industries, including those with exposure to fossil fuels, ASIC said.

However, the regulator claims research was not completed for a number of bond issuers included in Vanguard’s index, and that the product exposed investor funds to investments with links to fossil fuels, oil and gas exploration.

“We consider that the screening and research undertaken on behalf of Vanguard was far more limited than that being promised to investors, and we consider this constitutes another example of greenwashing,” ASIC deputy chair Sarah Court said.

Eric Zuesse: How U.S. Congress Just Voted to Make War Permanent

In a bold display of the bipartisan determination of the U.S. Congress after 9/11 to lock-in forever the bonanza that the Congress temporarily granted to America’s ‘Defense’ industries (manufacturers of war-weapons, etc.), the proposed congressional Resolution, on July 19th, “On the Amendment (Paul Amdt. No. 222 )”, aiming “To express the sense of Congress that Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty does not supersede the constitutional requirement that Congress declare war before the United States engages in war,” was voted down in the U.S. Senate, by the huge bipartisan margin of 83 Nays to 16 Yeas. All of the 16 Yeas were Republican Senators. However, 32 Republicans, and both of the Senate’s ‘Independent’ Senators (Sanders of Vermont, and King of Maine), also voted Nay — they voted that the U.S. Constitution’s clause which demands a congressional authorization before the U.S. President may send U.S. forces abroad into a war, be nullified if NATO declares war. (For example: if NATO declares war against Russia regarding Ukraine — which COULD happen — then America is automatically at war against Russia, and no congressional authorization is needed in order for the U.S. to immediately launch a nuclear invasion of Russia.) So: this was anything but a partisan vote in the Congress: 83 U.S. Senators, of both and of no Parties, endorsed it. But did the American people endorse it? The American people had voted those 83 U.S. Senators into office. Why did the American people do that? Was this because the same ‘Defense’ contractors who had funded these Senators’ political careers has ALSO funded the opposite Party’s nominees who were running against them? Do billionaires need to fund both of the Parties in order for such a thing to happen? Is this what America’s ‘democracy’ has now come down to?

On 17 February 2023, U.S. President Joe Biden issued his “Notice on the Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to Libya”, and — though around half of U.S. Senators have grandstanded publicly against U.S. arms-sales into Middle-Eastern wars — he publicly announced that America will continue the “National Emergency” which President Obama had announced in 2011 to get rid of Muammar Gaddafi (even though Gaddafi did become assassinated on 11 October 2011). Congress did nothing to object to Biden’s continuation of that authorization by Biden, for Biden to continue America’s participation in those wars. Then, finally, on 13 June 2023, the Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar headlined “Gosar Introduces Legislation Terminating Libya National Emergency Declaration”, and reported that Gosar had just introduced “H.J. Res. 70, legislation terminating the national emergency related to Libya declared by President Obama on February 25, 2011 in Executive Order 13566.” It’s all for show, even if he does support it, because for many decades now, the U.S. Congress never votes against America’s armaments contractors. In fact, Gosar’s press release admitted that “There are currently 41 declared national emergencies still in effect in the United States.” His link there shows that those ‘U.S. national emergencies’ are against: Iran, Nicaragua, South Africa, Libya (1986), Panama, Iraq (1990), Chemical and Biological Weapons (of which the U.S. has been the biggest producer — but this 1990 Executive Order 12735 was directed only against foreign countries) — Haiti, Serbia and Montenegro, UNITA, Bosnia and Herzegovina, “Terrorists,” Cuba, Burma, Sudan, Serbia and Montenegro again, Taliban, Sierra Leone, Western Balkans, “Terrorists” again, Zimbabwe, Iraq again (2003), Syria, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, Belarus, DR Congo, Lebanon, North Korea, Somalia, Libya (2011), Russians in Ukraine (2014), South Sudan, Central African Republic, Venezuela, Burundi, Nicaragua again, Mali, China, China again, Burma again, Russia again, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and Russia again. Others were against things, such as narcotics. However the ones that I listed were already 45 “U.S. National Emergencies,” in which the President could bring the U.S. to war regardless of the U.S. Congress. And, of course, since all of these ‘public officials’ depend essentally on America’s billionaires, those people are the ones whom the U.S. Government actually represents. (Some people say that America is a republic instead of a democracy, but the real question is: Whom do the representatives actually represent?)

Trump May Be Indicted in Jack Smith’s January 6 Investigation as Early as Tomorrow: CBS News

Just in time to distract from Joe Biden’s pay-to-play crimes.

Special Counsel Jack Smith may indict President Trump as early as Tuesday (tomorrow) in his January 6 investigation in DC.

Last Tuesday morning President Trump released a statement on the Biden DOJ’s latest attempt to arrest him on junk charges.

“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury Investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” Trump said last week.

Special Counsel Jack Smith leaked another report to The New York Times last Wednesday night.

The leak came after the House Oversight Committee produced $17 million in bank receipts and witness testimony in the Biden Family bribery, corruption, and influence peddling schemes with foreign regimes.

Jack Smith is likely to use the same Civil War Civil Rights Violation that Merrick Garland and the DOJ have been using to send January 6 protesters to prison for years for non-violent crimes.

According to CBS News, the DC grand jury investigating Trump may indict the former president as early as Tuesday afternoon.

“If there’s going to be an indictment here in DC in the special counsel’s January 6 investigation, it could come as early as tomorrow, 1 pm Eastern time when the grand jury is here in the courthouse. The January 6 grand jury tends to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays,” CBS reporter Scott MacFarlane reported.

“That’s the soonest it could happen but there is certainly no date on the calendar…there’s no indictment that is certain…” he said.

Apparatus and method for remotely monitoring and altering brain waves

Apparatus for and method of sensing brain waves at a position remote from a subject where by electromagnetic signals of different frequencies are simultaneously transmitted to the brain of the subject in which the signals interfere with one another to yield a waveform which is modulated by the subject's brain waves. The interference waveform which is representative of the brain wave activity is re-transmitted by the brain to a receiver where it is demodulated and amplified. The demodulated waveform is then displayed for visual viewing and routed to a computer for further processing and analysis. The demodulated waveform also can be used to produce a compensating signal which is transmitted back to the brain to effect a desired change in electrical activity therein.
