In Surprise Move, House GOP Actually Cuts FBI Funding by $1 Billion
The House Committee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies passed the appropriation bill for the FBI’s budget for the next fiscal year. Amazingly, the bill includes a $1 billion cut in FBI funding. There is also an impressive list new prohibitions on the FBI’s actions.
The best part of all? It includes $400 million in salary cuts. Some people at the FBI are not going to be receiving paychecks because of their actions in retaliating against whistleblowers.
While we are still a long way off from completely dismantling the FBI, this is a positive step in the right direction.
The committee is cutting the FBI’s budget by about 9%, from $11.3 billion to $10.3 billion. That puts the corrupt bureau back at 2022 spending levels. Again, it’s not great, but it’s a start.
The bill prohibits the FBI from doing any so-called explicit bias training or diversity, inclusion, and equity (DIE) training. The House GOP added a similar amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), prohibiting the Department of Defense from engaging in any of this anti-white racism nonsense.
Plus, the bill has some bad news for any of the jerks at the Department of Justice who have retaliated against FBI whistleblowers. They’re not getting paid!
The bill reads, “None of the funds made available by this Act may be used to pay the salary, benefits, bonuses, or expenses of a Department of Justice employee who is found to have retaliated against a whistleblower or suppressed an employee’s constitutional rights under the First Amendment.”
Special agent Garrett O’Boyle testified before Congress recently on how the FBI had retaliated against him and his wife and children. After he blew the whistle on FBI misconduct and targeting of conservatives and school board parents, the FBI transferred him to Virginia. After he moved his family, including his young children, across the country, he was suspended without pay. They wouldn’t even allow him to get his family’s items, like his children’s clothing and toys, out of storage.
They pretty much made O’Boyle and his young family homeless by retaliating in such a brutal fashion against them. Special agent Steven Friend was also retaliated against. He blew the whistle when the FBI sent him to take down license plate numbers of angry parents at school board meetings. The FBI revoked his security clearance and suspended him without pay.
The bill likewise prohibits the FBI and the Department of Justice from spending any funds to classify Americans’ speech as “misinformation.” The FBI and the DOJ were among the most egregious censors in the run-up to the 2020 election, as they smacked down accounts trying to report on Hunter Biden’s laptop from hell.
Here is one of the best aspects of this bill so far. The FBI and DOJ are prohibited from conducting any “politically sensitive investigation until the Department of Justice establishes a policy requiring nonpartisan career staff to oversee such investigations.”
The legislation defines politically sensitive investigations as “investigations of elected officials or their family members, political candidates or their family members, political organizations, religious organizations, and members of the media.”
This will hopefully start to curb the endless partisan witch hunts against President Donald Trump. The witch hunts are a desperate ploy to keep Trump from returning to the White House, by arresting and jailing him before the election. These frivolous prosecutions also set an incredibly dangerous precedent.
The DOJ is arguing that prosecutor Jack Smith is independent, but that’s a bald-faced lie. His wife is a Joe Biden donor. She donated thousands of dollars to the crusty old perv in 2020.
Fair is fair, liberals. If you want to smear Justice Clarence Thomas and claim that he should be impeached because his wife believes the 2020 election was stolen, then Jack Smith’s wife donating to Joe Biden taints Smith as well. You decided on these rules, we’re just forcing you to play by them.
The FBI is currently devoting resources to mercilessly hunting down January 6ers. FBI whistleblowers have testified that they were pulled off of investigating child trafficking and child porn cases just to go after the J6ers—two and a half years after January 6th. The bureau is not doing anything important, obviously, so it’s time to tear it all down.
That’s going to take time, but a billion-dollar budget cut sends a message that House Republicans are listening to us sometimes.
