Key House Republican says Hunter Biden paintings may have gone to China

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer on Monday suggested that some of first son Hunter Biden's paintings may have made their way to China.

"We fear that some of these paintings and some of those high dollar pieces of art went to China as well," Comer said on the "Just the News, No Noise" television show.

The younger Biden's art career has long attracted concerns that the sales could be part of an influence peddling scheme. Some of his paintings have been listed in the Georges Bergès Gallery in SoHo, with some priced as high as $85,000. Despite claims that the first son would not learn the names of the buyers, reports have since stated that Biden did learn the names of two purchasers.

Comer eschewed the notion that the art sales are a legitimate enterprise, saying "[e]very American should be insulted by Joe Biden thinking that they're just gonna believe that no special interest or no foreign nationals are the buyers of that artwork."

"Of course, people who buy that crappy artwork from the president's son are doing it to receive a benefit. There's no–of course they are. And that's further evidence. And I think you're gonna see more evidence," he opined.

Comer did not elaborate specifically in terms of possible purchasers beyond expressing fears that some art "went to China," though the first son has long faced scrutiny over a deal with now-defunct Chinese energy company CEFC.

He further suggested that the owner of the gallery could have come forward with exculpatory details about the sales to assuage concerns about their legitimacy,

"[I]f they were legitimate art buyers, I think the art gallery owner would have already defended his good name and and admitted that," he concluded.

In July 2020 documents were released by the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding the Russia collusion hoax.

The second set of documents exposed the outlandish New York Times story that the Trump team had “repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials.” The declassified documents reveal The New York Times reporting was transparently dishonest and attempted to fuel the Russiagate narrative in its early stages.

In May 2022, the country learned that it was Hillary Clinton’s campaign that was behind the entire Trump-Russia collusion hoax. We know this because her former campaign manager Robbie Mook said so under oath during the Sussman trial.

The entire Trump-Russia collusion narrative was a lie. The Democrats and media knew it was a lie. We now know that the Hillary Clinton Campaign was behind the entire narrative. Democrats used this in their attempted coup of the sitting president. They jailed and bankrupted innocent men in their coup attempt.

The New York Times along with the Washington Post later won Pulitzer Prizes for their junk Trump-Russia collusion reporting that was later confirmed to be factually inaccurate and a complete fraud.

If these outlets had any integrity they’d return their phony prizes. But they don’t. And they won’t.

In June 2023 Special Counsel John Durham testified before the House Judiciary Committee. During the hearing Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA) took time out to list all of the lies by popular Democrats Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, Eric Swalwell, and Ted Lieu. Durham agreed with Kiley’s assessment.

Rep. Kiley: Mr. Durham, several people today, including ranking member Nadler and three representatives from California Mr. Schiff, Mr. Swalwell and Mr. Lieu have attacked you. Ranking Member Nadler called your report a political exercise with ethical ambiguity. Mr. Lieu called you a partisan hack.

However, it seems that they’re taking issue not so much with the conclusions of your report court as those of Mr. Mueller’s report, which concluded that the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.

That conclusion directly contradicted statements made on the record by those representatives. For example, Mr. Schiff in 2017 2018 made statements such as the Russians offered help, the campaign accepted help, the Russians gave help, and the President made full use of that help. And that is pretty damning. He also said there’s clear evidence on the issue of collusion. He said, I think there’s plenty of evidence of collusion or conspiracy in plain sight. Mr. Durham, are those statements supported by the conclusions of the Mueller Report?

Biden White House Scandal Spox Calls on Republicans to “Drop These Stunts” After Devon Archer House Committee Interview: “Evidence-Free Wild Goose Chase”

Biden White House scandal spokesman Ian Sams responded Monday afternoon to the reports of coming out of Hunter Biden former business partner Devon Archer’s closed-door interview with the House Oversight Committee earlier in the day, calling the investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden an “evidence free wild goose chase” and urging Republicans to “drop these stunts.”

Devon Archer, a former friend going back to college with Hunter Biden who served with Hunter on the board of the Ukraine energy firm Burisma while Joe Biden was vice president, spoke for about three hours on Monday to Republicans and Democrats on the Oversight Committee.

Archer said that Hunter Biden used Joe Biden as “the brand” for their business, dialing up his father on speakerphone about twenty times during meeting with clients and prospective clients, with Joe making small talk, as well as an-person meeting at a D.C. restaurant when he was vice president.

The revelations put the lie to Joe Biden’s years long claims he never spoke with Hunter about his business dealings and puts him in the midst of bribery and influence peddling, as well as a Foreign Agents Registration Act conspiracy. Yet the White House called it an “evidence-free wild goose chase.”

Sams’ statement as reported by Fox News’ Chad Pergram, “It appears that the House Republicans’ own much-hyped witness today testified that he never heard of President Biden discussing business with his son or his son’s associates, or doing anything wrong. House Republicans keep promising bombshell evidence to support their ridiculous attacks against the President, but time after time, they keep failing to produce any. In fact, even their own witnesses appear to be debunking their allegations. Instead of continuing to waste time and resources on this evidence-free wild goose chase, House Republicans should drop these stunts and work with the President on the issues that actually impact Americans’ daily lives.”

Sams later tweeted over comments by Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), “It appears that the House GOP’s own witness under oath debunked their central allegation against the President. They keep promising bombshell evidence but over and over, they can’t produce any. Yet the goose chase rolls on, at the expense of focusing on Americans’ real priorities.”

DeSantis: Two-Tiered Justice System ‘Got Worse’ on Trump’s Watch

During an interview with the Fox News Channel aired on Monday’s broadcast of “Special Report,” 2024 Republican presidential candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that there are two standards of justice, and “Donald Trump was President for four years. This problem got worse under him. He did not succeed in draining the swamp.” DeSantis also predicted that Trump would have a “very difficult time getting the type of personnel to join the administration that you would need” to take down the administrative state.

DeSantis said, “Well, this is why we say there [are] two standards of justice. If Hunter were a Republican, he’d be in jail by now. You look at all of this smoke, and yet, the FBI, where [are] the search warrants? Where is the grand jury? Where’s the aggressiveness that they’ve shown going after some Republicans? You just don’t see it.”

He added that the treatment of former President Trump is another example of the two tiers of justice and stated that with the Mar-a-Lago raid, they “went through everything they could to get any piece of information. They are not doing that with Hunter. Of course, they didn’t do it with Hillary back in 2016. So, we look at that. But look at all of the possible corruption. Hunter, he’s selling paintings for over a million dollars. My six-year-old daughter does better paintings than him, maybe we’ll put ours up and see what kind of things she can fetch. I don’t think we’re going to get a million dollars on it. We will go in there and we will make all of this stuff better very, very quickly.”

DeSantis continued, “And, look, Donald Trump was President for four years. This problem got worse under him. He did not succeed in draining the swamp. My worst critics and opponents in Florida will acknowledge, the Governor says he’s going to do something, you can take that to the bank, he’s going to do it.”

He added, “If you want to slay this administrative state, you’ve got to be disciplined, you’ve got to be focused, and you’ve got to have people surrounding you that are going to go and support the mission. I think the former President would have [a] very difficult time getting the type of personnel to join the administration that you would need to actually bring this stuff to fruition.”
