In the first half of this year, the number of EU citizens making tourist trips to Russia has roughly doubled over the same period in 2022, boosted by a 82% rise in visits in Q2 over last year, racking up a total of 251,600 trips.
Most visits came from Germany, Poland and the Baltic countries, who experts believe have mostly come to Russia on tourist visas to visit relatives, or for private and business purposes.
