Any mechanics in the house tonight?
Fluid swapped out at 75k and now at 120k on 6L80 trans.
Here's three checks in a row after sitting for 15 hours.
Not slipping as far as I can tell but does occasionally studder slightly through down shifts.
Is it dying?
Dealer says they won't flush or drain/fill and I need to replace.
Is it really that bad?
Like, should I not invite my transmission to Turkey Day?
Nothing. No codes. Ever.
Engine seems to be running fine.
So, replace the truck and keep the converter?
Seriously though, better to replace just the converter or the trans too? I hear these things go out at about 150k anyway…
Intermittent shudder when coming down from higher speeds. Maybe2-3 in 10.
I haul a 12' landscaping trailer sometimes. Maybe once a month. No real hills or anything in FL.
Up shifts seem OK. very minor shudder if at all.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've had the truck over 3500 RPM.
I drive with CC 99.9% of the time.
Bought it with 34k on it.

I mow my grandparents property once a month and a few others.
