It is done in such a way that it will auto-unbreak when you copy and paste. This is to make it easier on mobile users.

Manually breaking links is not needed and makes things harder on mobile fags.

Now, with the above being said, be careful about what addons you use to copy and paste links into new tabs. You may be breaking the link breaking.
