[Rev 2:28 KJV] 28 And I will give him the morning star.
I will give him the light in the darkness.
In addition and I quote "morning star" refers to the faithful believer in Christ share in the glory or splendor of Christ. Christ gives every faithful believer the privilege of being like Him in royal splendor to various degrees.
Only Jesus gives the light in the darkness.
Only Jesus can allow believers in Him to share in His glory.

[Rev 2:26-28 KJV] 26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star.
Jesus is talking about rewarding believers and sharing in His glory during the 1000 year reign of Christ when He sits upon the throne of David in the new Jerusalem.

Salvation is the reward. Does not matter when a believer is saved, the reward (salvation) is the same for all. Now other rewards (crowns)(storing in Heaven)(etc) will be handed out, but the gift of salvation applies the same to those who were called at an early age and believed or did not believe until a later age. I believe all of mankind will be called, but many do not answer.
