Trump campaign slams appointment of Hunter Biden special counsel
Trump's campaign does not appear to be the only conservative entity skeptical of Weiss's appointment.
A campaign spokesperson for former President Donald Trump has slammed Attorney General Merrick Garland's appointment of David Weiss to serve as special counsel on the Hunter Biden case, suggesting the Delaware U.S. Attorney was unlikely to hold the first son or the Biden family accountable for their alleged wrongdoings.
Prior to his appointment, Weiss led the investigation into Hunter Biden that faced accusations from IRS whistleblowers of political interference. Included in their claims was an allegation that Weiss had previously sought special counsel status to pursue charges in the case, but had been rejected.
"Crooked Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and the entire Biden Crime Family have been protected by the Justice Department for decades even though there is overwhelming evidence and credible testimony detailing their wrongdoing of lying to the American people and selling out the country to foreign enemies for the Biden Cartel’s own financial gain," the statement from an unnamed spokesperson read.
"If this special counsel is truly independent - even though he failed to bring proper charges after a four year investigation and he appears to be trying to move the case to a more Democrat-friendly venue he will quickly conclude that Joe Biden, his troubled son Hunter, and their enablers, including the media, which colluded with the 51 intelligence officials who knowingly misled the public about Hunter’s laptop, should face the required consequences," it continued.
Trump's campaign does not appear to be the only conservative entity skeptical of Weiss's appointment. Key House Republicans such as Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan and Oversight Chairman James Comer have suggested the appointment is an attempt to "whitewash" the investigation and "stonewall" Republican efforts to look into the first family.

Chilling security camera video shows Philippines man abducting 8-year-old girl in a suitcase
Security cameras caught the moment a man in the Philippines allegedly kidnapped an 8-year-old girl in a suitcase and wheeling her through the streets.
On Thursday, 8-year-old Jin Nichole You went missing from her family's apartment in the district of Bakilid in Mandaue City, Cebu province.
The girl's mother, Tyree Lanny Rendal, allegedly became alarmed when she returned home and didn't see her young daughter. The mother reportedly checked the videos from the apartment's security cameras and saw a man in a hoodie wheeling away a large black suitcase out of the building.
The girl's family notified police, who then viewed security video from the neighborhood. CCTV video showed the man wheeling the suitcase through the streets.
Following a police search, the 8-year-old was tracked down to a boarding house less than half a mile from the girl's apartment.
"Three hours after the incident came to the knowledge of the operatives, an intricate rescue police operation was immediately conducted paving the way to the successful rescue of the victim and the arrest of the suspect," said Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas.
According to the Manilla Bulletin, Aberin said police "immediately utilized modern technology, in-depth investigation, and comprehensive intelligence resulting in the successful tracking of the suspect and the victim.”
The New York Post reported, "Amazingly, she was largely unharmed, except for minor scratches on her hands, feet, and mouth from allegedly being bound with duct tape." The girl was reunited with her family.
Police arrested 32-year-old Godiflor Rama. The suspect purportedly worked as the caretaker at the family's apartment building for more than a year. Rama allegedly knew the girl's grandparents and abducted the 8-year-old over a feud.
"I hope the family can forgive me for what I did. I only did that because they were accusing me of stealing their belongings, like their bags and hangers," the suspect allegedly said.
"I admit that the girl is attractive, but that doesn't mean that I like her. I did not rape her. I did not sexually assault her," the suspect stated, according to the Daily Mail.
Rama said he planned on returning the child to her family after six hours, according to reports.
The mother said, "I would like to thank the police and investigators from the bottom of my heart. They acted swiftly just to save my daughter."
Aberin added, "I would like to recognize the very swift action of the Able, Active, and Allied police operatives of PRO-7 who participated in the rescue operation of the minor kidnap victim and the arrest of the kidnapper. Congratulations to all of you, and the PNP is very proud of you."

US Diplomat Threatened To "Kick The Sh*t" Out Of Biden For Groping Wife
Former diplomat and US Senator Scott Brown said he threatened to beat then-VP Joe Biden's ass for getting handsy with his wife.
Scott Brown, a former Massachusetts Senator who went on to serve as Trump's Ambassador to New Zealand, said in a new podcast interview that Biden started touching his wife inappropriately when the newly-elected Republican was being sworn in, as first reported by the NH Journal.
"Yeah, I told him I would kick the sh… uh… I told him to stop," Brown told Tom Shattuck on the Massachusetts-based Burn Barrel podcast.
Shattuck noted Biden's history of inappropriate behavior around women over the years, including hair-sniffing of both women and children - suggesting that female voters didn't like what they were seeing.
"Biden has taken a hit in the polls, especially in the last few months. This thing with his granddaughter really stuck," referring to Biden's initial refusal to acknowledge his illegitimate granddaughter fathered by Hunter Biden and a former stripper.
"Also, I think people are irked out about all the hair sniffing and things when he went overseas. I think women are skeeved out by that stuff. He’s not a good guy. You know him…," said Shattuck - to which Brown replied:
"I did know him. I spent quite a bit of time with him. I enjoyed his company. But that’s not Joe Biden."
"We all know people who have dementia and have the beginning of Alzheimer’s, and he’s got it. I mean, it’s the walk. It’s the way he’s mumbling, his angry outbursts. And it’s a shame that we can’t do better in this great country."
A recent Harris Poll found 43 percent of Democrats agreed with Brown and believe Biden is showing signs he is too old to be president. In the new NHJournal/co-efficient poll, nearly half of Granite Staters said 75 or older is too old to serve as president.
Shattuck then prodded Brown to repeat a story he had told on Boston Herald Radio years ago regarding Biden’s behavior at Brown’s swearing-in. -NH Journal
"It’s old news. Yes, he didn’t act the way I thought he should. And we called him on it, and that’s it," said Brown.

Sam Bankman-Fried Heads Back To Jail After Bail Revoked
FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried is headed back to jail after the judge in the case revoked his bail over alleged witness intimidation, after he showed a journalist from the NY Times private writings from his ex-girlfriend and business partner, Caroline Ellison, and used a VPN in violation of a previous order not to.
The 31-year-old Bankman-Fried was remanded directly into custody, and will remain in a New York federal detention center until his trial begins on Oct. 2.
Late last month the DOJ sought to have SBF's bail revoked over the leaked diary, and allegedly used the Signal app to obstruct the investigation, as the app auto-deletes content after a period of time.
John Reed Stark, former US SEC's Office of Internet Enforcement Chief, suggested that Judge Lewis Kaplan could view SBF’s actions as an effort to improperly influence witnesses and choose to either make further modifications to his bail conditions or revoke his bail entirely. Obviously, Kaplan chose the latter.
"The documents are in part personal and intimate. They are personally oriented, not business oriented. There's something that someone who has been in a relationship would be unlikely to share with anyone except to hurt and frighten the subject," said Judge Kaplan, adding "In view of the evidence, my conclusion is that there is probable cause to believe that the defendant has attempted to tamper with witnesses at least twice under Section 1512(b)."

DeSantis Suggests He Would Use Drone Strikes Against Mexican Drug Cartels
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said on Thursday that he would approve using drone strikes to take down drug cartels in Mexico if he were elected president.
During a campaign event in Iowa, Mr. DeSantis was asked whether “drones” or any other military intervention on Mexican soil were still on the table.
“Yes, I have already said that. We will lean in against the drug cartels. We will absolutely reserve the right, if they’re invading our country and killing our people, we have the right to defend this country,” the Republican governor said.
“We have the right to hold them accountable, and it’s not just if they happen to come over our border. If Mexico is not going to help us with that, well, then we’re going to have to do what we have to do,” he continued.
At the end of Mr. DeSantis’ campaign event, he told NBC News that the United States should “use whatever force we need to defend the country,” adding the Mexican drug cartels equate with a “foreign terrorist organization” responsible for “killing tens of thousands of Americans” annually.
“They’re trafficking people into this country. They’re abusing people, sexual abuse, it’s really the worst of humanity,” he said. “I would categorize them as something akin to a foreign terrorist organization, I think that is what they’ve proven to be. The Mexican government is not doing what they need to do to help with this, but we said from day one on our border announcement that we’d be willing to lean in against them.”
Mr. DeSantis’ latest comments are in line with a proposal GOP senators introduced earlier this year that would slap the Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) label on drug cartels in Mexico.
In February, attorneys general from 21 Republican-led states urged (pdf) President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken to declare Mexican drug cartels as FTOs. Doing so, they argued, would grant state and federal law enforcement increased powers to freeze cartel assets, deny members entry at the border, and allow prosecutors to pursue tougher punishments against the cartels’ supporters.
Mexican Cartels Impact Fentanyl Deaths
Over the last several months, a growing number of GOP legislators have suggested military intervention to dismantle Mexican cartel operatives, which have caused havoc at the border and are responsible for the smuggling of illegal immigrants and deadly narcotics such as fentanyl into the United States.
Fentanyl, a highly addictive and potent synthetic opioid, is the leading cause of death for Americans from ages 18 to 49. An estimated 109,680 people died from drug overdoses in 2022, including about 75,000 from fentanyl and other synthetic opioids.
Mexican cartels are known to import fentanyl from China before pressing it into pills or mixing it into other counterfeit pills made to look like Xanax, Adderall, or oxycodone, and selling them to unaware buyers who then accidentally overdose.
In March, Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas) was asked during an interview on Fox Business whether he believes the United States should use its military against the cartels in Mexico.
The lawmaker noted that there are some legislative steps that have to be followed, but he agreed that “the idea of U.S. drones striking these fentanyl plants in Mexico sounds like a pretty good idea to me.”
“Americans are dying,” Mr. Hunt, who has a military background, told the news outlet on March 17. “It’s the federal government’s responsibility to keep our citizens safe, and we are failing them. If it takes military action and if we do it the right way, legislatively, then sign me up. I’m ready for that.”
Mr. Hunt’s remark came a week after the U.S. State Department reiterated that it has a “Level 4” travel advisory in effect for portions of Mexico, including in Tamaulipas state—where four Americans were kidnapped.
Besides the United States—Canada, France, and the United Kingdom also have travel warnings in place for Mexico. Level 4 is the highest warning in the U.S. agency’s travel advisory system.

Merrick Garland's Special Counsel Appointment May Violate DOJ's Own Rules, Legal Experts Say
U.S. Attorney David Weiss’ appointment Friday as special counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation appears to violate a Department of Justice (DOJ) regulation requiring a special counsel to “be selected from outside the United States Government.”
Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Weiss’ appointment as special counsel Friday, noting he would “continue to have the authority and the responsibility that he has previously exercised” and explaining Weiss had requested to be appointed on Tuesday. The Justice Department regulation, which governs the powers and qualifications of a special counsel, was also used to criticize the 2020 appointment of John Durham as special counsel to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia probe while he was serving as U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew McCarthy called the appointment of Weiss a “sham” on Fox News, saying “the point of having a special counsel is to bring in someone from outside the government who we can trust to do a credible investigation.
“What makes a special counsel special is that you’re a lawyer who’s brought in from outside the United States government, not just outside the Justice Department, outside the government,” he said.
“This is the Biden Justice Department’s vehicle for maintaining control of an investigation that they are not pursuing,” he continued. “They’ve had the case for five years. They’ve never indicted it. They’re strategically allowing the statute of limitations to run to the point that the 2014 and 2015 conduct, which covers most of the $21 million that the congressional investigation report showed this week, that’s already time barred.”
Fox News legal analyst and former defense attorney Gregg Jarrett tweeted that Garland is “defying federal regulations.”
“So, the fix is in,” he said. “Weiss will continue the obstruction & Biden protection.”
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton also said Weiss is “ineligible even under DOJ’s constitutionally deficient special counsel” regulations.
Georgetown law professor and former acting Solicitor General Neal K. Katyal, who helped draft the special counsel rules as a Justice Department staff member in 1999, previously argued in The New York Times that Durham’s appointment as special counsel violated the rules.
Durham resigned from his position as U.S. attorney when he was appointed special counsel. Garland said Friday that Weiss would continue to serve as U.S. attorney for the District of Delaware.
Lawyer and former federal prosecutor Bill Shipley tweeted that the attorney general is “not subject to being disciplined for ignoring a regulation.”
“These are created by the Agencies themselves, not the Congress,” Shipley said. “And the regulations provide there is no right created in anyone to force compliance — in a court or otherwise — with this regulation in the event it is violated.”

Russian Foreign Ministry: The U.S. does not care about the humanitarian needs of Syrian people
The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the US administration’s decision not to extend the effect of General License 23,on the partial lifting of sanctions on humanitarian aid provided to the Syrian people, after the devastating earthquake that struck Syria on the 6th of last February.
“Washington’s decision confirms the United States’ ignorance of the needs of millions of Syrians,”. It is a decision that must be condemned.” Tass news agency quoted the foreign ministry as saying in a statement.
The statement indicated that this decision confirms once again the United States’ disregard of the humanitarian needs of the Syrian people, and its ignorance of the basic tasks of restoring vital civil infrastructure facilities in Syria.

MI AG Dana Nessel CONFIRMS 8,000 to 10,000 Suspected Fraudulent Registrations Delivered to Muskegon Clerk October 2020, as Noted in MI State Police Report She Buried from Public
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel on Thursday CONFIRMED that 8,000 to 10,000 suspected fraudulent registrations were delivered to Muskegon City Clerk prior to the 2020 election.
The far-left Detroit News reported on this latest development on Thursday after reporting by The Gateway Pundit earlier this week.
A redacted police report describes how Meisch encountered a woman dropping off 8,000 – 10,000 completed voter registration applications. The Gateway Pundit reported that the “registrations included the same handwriting, non-existent addresses, and incorrect phone numbers.”
An investigation found that the woman worked for GBI Strategies.
GBI Strategies was funded by dark money super PAC ‘BlackPAC,’ which paid them $11,254,919 to register voters for Joe Biden.
The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that during the investigation, the police found guns, burner phones, pre-paid cash cards and incomplete registrations at a defunct eyeglass store where GBI Strategies had set up operation.
This was in response to the EXPLOSIVE report by The Gateway Pundit published on Tuesday.
The Detroit News reported this development on Thursday,
Lansing — Authorities in Michigan referred a 2020 investigation into thousands of voter registrations submitted by a person in Muskegon to the FBI, Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office confirmed this week.
Nessel’s press secretary, Danny Wimmer, said the total number of suspected fraudulent forms delivered to the Muskegon clerk by the individual was 8,000 to 10,000 ahead of the Nov. 3, 2020, presidential election.
However, Wimmer said, the “attempted fraud” was caught before Election Day because Michigan’s election system worked and the applicants were not added to the state’s voter rolls.
“The city clerk in Muskegon detected the fraudulent material provided and alerted the proper authorities,” Wimmer said in a statement. “A thorough investigation was conducted by multiple agencies within the state and no successful fraud was perpetrated upon the state’s election process or qualified voter file.”
The unresolved probe, which first became public in October 2020, has garnered new attention among conservative-leaning websites in recent days after the Gateway Pundit highlighted police reports about investigators’ efforts. The conservative website, which has advanced false and unproven theories in the past about voter fraud influencing Democrat Joe Biden’s victory, wrote in its headline for the story, “Now we have proof.”
