Monday โaccelerated change of command ceremonyโ relieves Navy JAG tied to SEAL cases
Caught in a political firestorm for her leadership of the Regional Legal Service Office Southwest during a pair of SEAL war crimes cases that fell apart, the Navy relieved Capt. Meg Larrea on Monday.
But Navy spokesman Cmdr. Jereal E. Dorsey cautions not to read anything into that, calling Larreaโs relief an "accelerated change of command ceremonyโ 14 days before she was slated to relinquish her office to Capt. Jennie Goldsmith.
Deputy Judge Advocate General Rear Adm. Darse E. Crandall Jr. presidedover what was described as a private ceremony, without an end of the tour award for her.

Michigan judge denies drug manufacturer's immunity in case of contaminated COVID-19 medication
DETROIT, Mich.โ A Michigan judge has ruled for the first time that a drug manufacturer is not protected by the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act in a case where a man suffered two strokes and a leg amputation after receiving a COVID-19 medication contaminated with glass particles.
The PREP Act was declared by the U.S. Department of health and Human Services for emergency use, and shields manufacturers, administrators and distributors of vaccines from liability claims of loss caused by a drug.
The case, filed by Ven Johnson Law on behalf of Dan Nowacki, focuses on howNowacki suffered a stroke after receiving Remdesivir that was contaminated with glass particles.
The drug was administered intravenously at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital and is designed to combat COVID-19 symptoms.

Two Killed, Five Injured In Gas Explosion In Restaurant
At approximately 3:20 p.m. on July 28, 1997, Employees #1 through #7 were working at Kelties Bum Steer Restaurant. Apparently, some type of flammable gas (possibly LPG) had accumulated in a old built-in swimming pool under the dining area of the restaurant. After a period of time, enough gas accumulated to reach the LEL. An employee using a vacuum is believed to have been the source of ignition that set off the explosion. When the explosion occurred, the outside walls of the building were pushed out and the concrete slab roof fell in on top of the employees in the dining room. Employees #1 and #2 were killed, Employee #3 was hospitalized, and Employees #4 through #7 were treated for minor injuries and released. Employees #1 and #2, and the one critically injured employee, were all in the dining area directly above the blast site.
