If the laser was made from microwaves, it would be potent enough to leave a radiation signature. I'm talking out of my ass but I know microwaves are radioactive so therefore my conclusion.

The microwave would be condensed though is what I'm saying because it was made into a direct able Beam so the trail would be significantly more noticeable and can't be written off as 'background radiation from the household microwave'.
Not kidding though, if you get a radiation detector, household microwaves emit dangerous amounts even when not used. Can find many videos on YouTube - not super secret anymore since like 5 years ago.
There is probably a center that detects Microwave Radiation levels and records it daily. Wonder what the readings were on Sept 11, 2001, in NYC.
