In one of those odd coincidences, I had skimmed an article from June issue of Smithsonian magazine about a sculpture of three (clothed) young women dancing around in a circle.
When I saw this pic of the girls around Hitler, I thought the photo might have been the genesis of the idea for the sculpture, or vice versa. While I still haven't read the article closely, a search of it does not reveal any references to Hitler or a photo. Perhaps they're related, perhaps not. But VERY similar at least.
