Not to knock on Morocco but saying Algeria's influence is diminishing & Morocco's is rising is a wild assertion. Both 🇲🇦 & 🇩🇿 have had their influence increase in the last decade. Also anybody from Africa or the Arabic speaking world knows Algeria has a much better reputation.

1- Dissolution of French influence

2- Erosion of Algerian sphere of influence in North Africa/Sahel & rise of Moroccan one

3-Russia pursuing an anti-NATO strategy from Africa

4- Gulf countries and Turkey becoming big players

6- China going after key strategic choke points to put pressure on US and its allies.

You might not like it, but this is what is happening. I’ll go even further and say that the fact that Algeria serves as a logistical hub for Wagner and has close ties to Moscow, makes it an unreliable partner for US and its allies to achieve their objectives. Again, just a fact.
