Mr. Biden: My team is closely monitoring Hurricane Hilary, which has the potential to bring significant rain and flooding to southern California.
Mr. Biden: In the United States, we are revolutionizing the way we do cancer research, and together, the three of us [US, South Korea, Japan], I am confident we can harness our shard spirit of innovation and end cancer as we know it.
President Yeol [South Korea]: In order to respond to today's unprecedented [inaudible] crisis, the ties between our three countries, which are the most advanced liberal democracies in the region…are more important than ever. From this moment on, Camp David will be remembered as a historic place where the Republic of Korea, the United States and Japan, proclaim that we will bolster the Rules Based International Order…
President Yeol: Korea, the US and Japan, and their support of Indo-Pacific strategies, oppose any unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force. Respectful sovereignty, territorial integrity, the peaceful settlement of disputes from others, [inaudible] Rules-Based International Order that we resolve to safeguard by intensifying our cooperation.
Prime Minister Fumio [Japan]: At the moment, the free and open International Order based on the rule of law is in crisis. Due to Russia's aggression of Ukraine, the International Order is shaken from it's foundation. Unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force in the East and South China Seas are continuing, and the nuclear and missile threats of North Korea is only becoming ever closer.
Prime Minister Fumio: We will consider the Camp David Principals issued today, and a historic turning point for the international community, to be a new compass for trilateral cooperation, and we will vigorously implement the concrete cooperation outlined in the Camp David statement of Japan, ROK, and US…We will continue to work to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the three countries in order to safeguard a free and open International Order and on the rule of law.
Mr. Biden: There's not much of anything I agree on with my predecessor on foreign policy. His America First policy, walking away from the rest of the world, makes us weaker, not stronger.
Fumio At today's meeting, the Rules-Based International Order, and activities inconsistent to such Rule-Based International Order and activities, and the concerns have been shared. And the Rule-Based [inaudible] and open International Order must be defended.
Mr. Biden: To think, in the the first quarter of the twentieth century, another country would amass over a hundred and fifty thousand forces on the border of another country…and invade that country…without any rationale; other than, if you read Putin's speech after he invaded, he talked about Kiev being the motherland- it just was ridiculous. He talked about being Peter the Great. Imagine if we had done nothing?
[The United States sent 160,000 troops into Iraq during initial invasion phase in 2003]
Fumio With regard to North Korea, we were able to put forward concrete results, such as the implementation of annual Japan, US/ROK multidomain joint exercises, and the establishment of a working group to address North Korea's cyber activities.
Fumio Once again, the presidents of both countries aligned with me in strongly opposing unilateral changes to the status quo through the use of force. We will continue our efforts to further strengthen the strategic partnership among the three countries in order to defend the free, open, and International Order based on the rule of law.
[Fumio appears to be a fanatical supporter of the 'International Rules-Based Order']
