it strikes me that the right column is double the left column, like everyone is taxed the same, and there is no difference if you are a mom with kids or a family with kids.

 

all you get for kids is like a child credit, i think it's $3,000 if under six and $3,600 between six and seventeen

 

this seems kind of anti parent since it obviously costs money to feed a child, but the parent's labor (think mother) counts for squat

besides the additional 7.65% tax for FICA there is also state tax, which seems to be approximately 5-6% nationwide

 

though some states don't have state tax. wonder if the states with tax have more jobs (why would that be)
