In the end, though, only the president makes the call โ€” and they can forgo guidance from advisers. A president could just press the proverbial button.

โ€œThese are the presidentโ€™s weapons,โ€ Rohlfing said.

Before his electoral victory in 2016, experts and political opponents began raising concerns about investing in Donald Trump the power to order a nuclear attack. That debate continued in Congress through his presidential term. By the time he left office, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had openly asked the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to limit his ability to launch nuclear weapons.

Anons? Wouldn't they have to pass a law? Pelosi can't just ask the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and honestly expect him to comply. can she? That's unlawful, right? And what about that other stuff we were hearing about? Calling China and giving warning or something like that? That's unlawful and treasonous unless new laws are made, right? They are the insurgents, not MAGA and Trump. Any additional background and information would be appreciated anons. Want to be sure that I am understanding this correctly. Thanks.

You will of course respond. Most can't help themselves because they are too self important and not really in control of their thoughts and emotions. But reply with the full knowledge that this anon will not see it.
