You also require amino acids and these are needed in order for a cell to complete its work. Cells are factories and they need amino in order to build proteins which are used to perform sub tasks in our bodies. We get amino from PROTEIN and protein is just a string of amino acids. Why we even have the word "protein" is beyond me as this is just a string of aminos, as is a peptide. Aminos (there are 9 we need) we have to get right EVERY DAY or we will have consequences.

 

It makes no matter whether aminos (protein) comes from a plant or animal.
