you're not asking for his need to be a winner, but why does he take pols so often.
So he can understand the mood of the public, be in touch with what people want, get feed back from the real world, hear what the people are saying, be connected with his supporters, and thus, with all of that information, make policy decisions based upon what the people actually want, not what marketer for corporations pretend people want.
he is in touch. They don't just ask, I'm sure, "who do you want for president".
they canvas the public and find out what the public has on their minds.
