The original author of this monograph although substantially correct, lacks any subtlety or sophistication of thought.
Especially considering the nature of the battle space we operate in.
Here’s where I am at
Make no mistake. We are at war.
Not all combatants are frontline troops that engage in open battle.
Some operate covertly and need to ‘maintain cover’, this should be obvious, but apparently it isn’t.
People (sometimes parents) who seemingly ‘took a bullet’ in order to protect others (especially children) from being hit - to my way of thinking, not only get a pass, but an honorary mention.
They get an ‘honorary medal’ if they were smart enough to wear a ‘bulletproof vest’ prior to allowing themselves to ‘be shot’ in order to protect others.
I don’t want to get specific about multiple ‘counter measures’ that are known to have been deployed, in case they need to be deployed again in the future.
Recognise that war is a dirty business.
We each have a roll to play.
Act accordingly.
