ANU REMINISCES: I had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Manoukian when I worked for the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation, and this is my favorite memory about him:

At a large fashion show fundraiser for the hospital on Valentine’s Day 2005, Dr. Manoukian won a grand prize drawing for a vintage filigree diamond ring. Every woman in the room had been swooning over the TDH (tall, dark, handsome) doctor after he’d strutted the runway in linen pants and an open silk shirt. So after his win, a half dozen women huddled around him and inquired, “So, Dr. Manoukian, who are you going to give the ring to?”

His reply? “Ah, the night is young.”

Classic! And better yet, I heard he ended up giving the ring to his mom.

Dr. Manoukian, you’ll be missed.

Very interesting that the Sheriff and / or Chief of Police has become the Coroner in so many Cities/Counties across the US. Same thing happened in my old County in CA. Wonder if that was part of their plan? Consolidate the power of investigations.

Might be an interesting dig!
