Jean-Pierre: At least one shooting this weekend was reportedly fueled by hate…on Saturday, in Jacksonville, Florida, a white gunman went on a shooting rampage at a store near a historically black university, and killed three black individuals…white supremacy has no place in America.

Stephen Benjamin [Director Office of Public Engagement, White House press conference]: The administration has, since day one, since [Biden] signed his first executive order on making sure that everything we've done is focused on equity in this administration…

Benjamin: Establishing these monuments in Mississippi and Illinois [Emmett Till] was meant to make sure people understand we cannot rewrite American history. We have to tell the good with the bad.

Benjamin: [Biden] and [Harris] feel very strongly…and will continue to make sure that we make full access to American history available to all our children.

Jean-Pierre: When [Biden] walked in, more than fifty percent of schools were shut down. Because of COVID. Because the last administration didn't have a plan; didn't have a comprehensive plan to deal with COVID, and what it was doing to our economy, and what it was doing to our kids.

Jean-Pierre: [Biden] has been able to turn the economy around so that it works for middle-class Americans.

Jean-Pierre: We are going to continue to work to support the restoration of democracy and the rule of law in Venezuela…should Venezuela take concrete actions toward restoring democracy leading to free and fair elections, we are prepared to provide corresponding sanctions relief as well.

Jean-Pierre: We don't believe we add restrictions on that industry [gas/oil/energy].
