Jean-Pierre: At least one shooting this weekend was reportedly fueled by hate…on Saturday, in Jacksonville, Florida, a white gunman went on a shooting rampage at a store near a historically black university, and killed three black individuals…white supremacy has no place in America.
Stephen Benjamin [Director Office of Public Engagement, White House press conference]: The administration has, since day one, since [Biden] signed his first executive order on making sure that everything we've done is focused on equity in this administration…
['equity' over competency]
Benjamin: Establishing these monuments in Mississippi and Illinois [Emmett Till] was meant to make sure people understand we cannot rewrite American history. We have to tell the good with the bad.
[Emmett Till statues = good; Founding Fathers, Confederate statues = racist and must be removed]
Benjamin: [Biden] and [Harris] feel very strongly…and will continue to make sure that we make full access to American history available to all our children.
[President Trump: Critical Race Theory will be permanently banned, and never be allowed to come back again]
Jean-Pierre: When [Biden] walked in, more than fifty percent of schools were shut down. Because of COVID. Because the last administration didn't have a plan; didn't have a comprehensive plan to deal with COVID, and what it was doing to our economy, and what it was doing to our kids.
Jean-Pierre: [Biden] has been able to turn the economy around so that it works for middle-class Americans.
Jean-Pierre calling the potential impeachment of Biden, a 'baseless political stunt'.
Jean-Pierre: We are increasingly confident that Prigozhin died in the plane crash that took place on August 23rd.
Jean-Pierre: We are prepared for the Fall…we will have vaccines available by mid-September. We believe we are in the strongest position yet to fight COVID-19; a lot of that is because of this work that [Biden] has done since day one of his administration.
[prepared for the common cold]
Reporter: We know that, from a Hunter Biden associate, he sold the appearance of access to then Vice President Biden. Are you confident that he has stopped doing that?
Jean-Pierre: That is a question for Hunter Biden.
Reporter: If someone is selling the appearance of access to the White House, that is a question for the White House.
Jean-Pierre: That is, that is, that is, that is your, your, I don't know, how you're perceiving that.
Reporter: That is sworn testimony by Devon Archer.
Jean-Pierre: I'm just not going to get into this. I'm just not.
Reporter: This testimony…Devon Archer talks about how he and Hunter Biden tried to profit off the 'Biden Brand'. What is the Biden Brand?
Jean-Pierre: Not going to get into it from here. We're going to move on.
Jean-Pierre: We are going to encourage Americans to get their updated COVID-19 vaccine, in addition to their annual flu shot…and RSV immunization for people over sixty, and for infants. That is something we are going to make very clear to Americans across the country.
Jean-Pierre: We are going to continue to work to support the restoration of democracy and the rule of law in Venezuela…should Venezuela take concrete actions toward restoring democracy leading to free and fair elections, we are prepared to provide corresponding sanctions relief as well.
Jean-Pierre: We don't believe we add restrictions on that industry [gas/oil/energy].
