'Joe the Plumber' who confronted Obama during 2008 campaign, dead at 49

Wurzelbacher, who owned a plumbing business during the 2008 campaign, came to represent middle-class Americans.

Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, the Ohio man who became known as "Joe the Plumber" after confronting then-candidate Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign, has died, his wife said. He was 49.

"Our hearts are broken. We lost a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. He made an impact on so many lives," his wife, Katie Wurzelbacher, said, Fox News Digital reported Monday.

Joe Wurzelbacher died Sunday after he said last month that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer.

"My heart goes out to everyone whose lives are impacted by cancer. There are so many ups and downs but we tried to find joy in every day. He fought long and hard, but is now free from pain," his wife said. "I don’t think of him as losing his battle. Because he knew Jesus, his battle was won."

Wurzelbacher, who owned a plumbing business during the 2008 campaign, came to represent middle-class Americans after his interaction with Obama at a campaign event in Toledo, Ohio. Wurzelbacher had told Obama that his tax plan would conflict with the American dream, but Obama responded by saying that the plan would spur small business growth.

Jim Jordan hints House 'headed' toward Biden impeachment inquiry in September

"So, yeah, I do think it's likely that we get to that point based on based on the facts and evidence that we're uncovering," he declared.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, on Monday suggested that the Republican-led House of Representatives will likely move toward an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden when Congress reconvenes in September.

Appearing on "The Great America Show," Jordan told host Lou Dobbs that mounting evidence against the Biden family was pushing the chamber towards a resolution to begin such an inquiry.

Lahaina Fire Survivor Blasts Jeff Bezos and Oprah During Emergency Council Meeting: “Jeff Bezos, You Got What You Wanted. Oprah, You Got What You Wanted — F*** Us All Over”

On August 8th, a devastating fire swept through the historic town of Lahaina, leaving a community in anguish and despair. Homes were razed, businesses destroyed, and lives disrupted.

The fire killed hundreds, and thousands are still missing. The Hawaii State Department of Education issued a report Thursday stating that 2,025 students are not accounted in the Lahaina public school system in the wake of the August 8 fire that ravaged the town of Lahaina on the island of Maui.

The four schools, two elementary, one intermediary and one high school that comprised the Lahaina school district had a total of 3,001 students enrolled before the fire. The schools are closed due to damage from the fires, with one elementary school heavily damaged and not likely to re-open for some time. The other three suffered damage from high winds, debris and soot. The report does not mention whether–or even the likelihood–many of the missing children were killed in the fire.

On August 22nd, the Maui County Council held an emergency meeting, with community members expressing their anger and calling for transparency and accountability from various agencies involved. Concerns were raised about the emergency proclamation, lack of communication and coordination, and the need for immediate and affordable housing solutions.
