All them tech guys are into shady shit. Money laundering. Government spying. Selling user data. Cointelpro. Etc. Careful what you trust. I don't have a Twitter account myself, but I still pull up useful content from there time to time ;)
Well, it can be, potentially. Mindless consumerism and greed is the real problem. Define materialistic though. Technically we all do need resources to live day to day, that's just human nature. It's good to have balance through, be with nature but also have the needed resources to live and also produce necessities for your family and local community. That would be ideal.
