I'm pretty sure, that these Maui fires are due to this landgrab, but not as you would expect.
It looks to me, like Hawaii was going to sede from the States, and go independent.
This would be a disaster for the DS if they were planning on using the islands as their base.
They may have taken the children as hostages.
