Is it not actually that they worship AT that place?

do they really worship a meteorite or just worship at it?

there is a difference.

gathering together isn't a bad thing. People need a land mark sometimes to tell them where they can go and meet like minded people.

"While the Black Stone is revered, Islamic theologians emphasize that it has no divine significance and that its importance is historical in nature."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Stone

according to wikipedia Islamic theologians say the stone has no divine significance.

I will defer to them, as it's their stone.

People don't worship the Blarney stone, though they like to kiss it.

and people don't worship the Trevi fountain even though they throw coins in it . . .

shout "please don't shoot, I'm innocent?"

that would be an active shooter who will then say you were resisting arrest?

Oh, if it's not the FBI at 5 AM, what do you do then?

end satire

sorry, anon, I disagree with you personifying 'The Earth'.

people getting sick after a grueling athletic event is very common.

do you know what happens to runners in the last few miles of the Boston Marathon? No one publishes that part.

let's say that they are often purged . . . of their waste as they run. I've never seen it myself, but I heard about it.

It's them punishing themselves by doing a grueling run. It's not the Earth.
