I knew a man who claimed to be a Knights Templar (a subcategory of freemasonry). I let him send me some of his books and studied them. Last phone call when I was inquiring about the secret society he said something like, "Well, you'd have to get used to the screaming." I hung up and we never had any further contact.

I never knew what kind of screaming he was referring to but now I think I know. Torture of children. Sadistic rituals. Possibly killings and possibly cannibalism.

It's been a couple of decades but I never forgot what he said about the screaming.
