United Airlines Resumes Flights Nationwide After Ordering Ground Stop
United Airlines has resumed flights after ordering all of them grounded across the United States and Canada on Tuesday.
At 1:38 PM, United requested the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issue a ground stop order on all of its aircraft in the United States and U.S.-bound flights from Canada, the FAA tweeted. Flights would be able to land, but none will take off until the order is lifted, according to the airline’s tweet.
United then tweeted, at 2:13 PM, that flights had resumed. “We have identified a fix for the technology issue,” they wrote on Twitter, now known as X, and that the ground stop order had been lifted. This was confirmed by the FAA.
