Movies have definitely fucked many people up and it seems to get more prevalent with each successive generation. I recall shortly after Avatar came out that people were committing suicide because they realized they could never go to that planet.

There are definitely some movies I like but they tend to be the ones that depict stories that more closely depict reality or a high level of plausibility. For instance, The Mule by Clint Eastwood seems at least plausible. Desperado with Antonio Banderas on the other hand seems like BS to me right away. He walks into a town carrying nothing but a guitar case filled with guns yet he shoots 50 tractor trailer loads of ammo through them.
