Poland signs deal for nearly 500 HIMARS launchers

Lockheed Martin confirmed a framework agreement on tailoring the missile launchers to be mounted on Polish-made Jelcz 6X6 trucks

Warsaw has approved plans to obtain another 486 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers which it hopes to begin producing domestically starting at the end of 2025 under a joint venture with US defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp.

“Our goal is to create a situation in which a strong Polish Army will actually deter the aggressor, and we will do it,” Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said on Monday in a statement announcing the HIMARS order, citing the perceived threat of Russian expansionism.

“As I have declared many times, within two years, Poland will have the strongest land army, and one of the most important components of this army will be rocket artillery,” he added.

Poland’s latest HIMARS order is scheduled for delivery starting at the end of 2025. Combined with a 2019 purchase of the US-made artillery system, the latest deal will give it a total of 500 HIMARS

However, Western military contractors have struggled to keep pace with surging demand for their hardware amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned earlier this year that the Western military bloc is unable to produce artillery rounds fast enough to match Ukraine’s rate of firing.

Lockheed Martin said it will to work with the Polish industry on tailoring the HIMARS launcher-loader module kits to be mounted on Polish-made Jelcz 6X6 trucks.

Polish contractors also also expected to be licensed to produce HIMARS ammunition. “We’re looking forward to jointly ensuring Poland and the entire region stay ahead of emerging security threats,” Lockheed Martin executive Paula Hartley said.

The Ukraine conflict also has given Russian forces ample practice in countering the HIMARS system. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry acknowledged in July that Russia had found ways to jam the GPS guidance system for its US-made rockets, reducing their effectiveness.

Key Polish contractors involved in the HIMARS program will include Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), WZU and MESKO. Given that a HIMARS launcher and its associated ammunition costs around $5.1 million, Poland’s bet on the US-made system may be valued at about $2.5 billion.

HIMARS batteries fitted to Poland’s Homar-A truck-mounted artillery system will be able to fire six rockets in quick succession at ranges of 70 kilometers (43 miles), Lockheed Martin said. The trucks also will be able to launch US MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) projectiles at ranges up to 300 kilometers (190 miles).

British parliament rocked by ‘Chinese spy’ discovery

Tory hawks want to escalate tensions with Beijing, but official London is reportedly reluctant

Two former leaders of Britain’s ruling Conservative Party called on Monday for a tougher stance on China, after revelations that a Parliament staffer was arrested for possible espionage months ago.

Former Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith told the House of Commons that it was “appalling news” that a Chinese spy cell might be operating in London, while former PM Liz Truss urged the government “to recognize that China is the largest threat both to the world and to the UK freedom and democracy.” (Funny she called Russia that 2-3 years ago!)

China hawks such as Smith and Truss have urged Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to declare China a “threat,” which would put anyone working “at the direction” of Beijing or in a state-linked company under the heightened scrutiny of security services.

Reducing the UK’s China policy “just to one word” would be wrong, Sunak’s spokesman Max Blain told AP. “We need to take the opportunity to engage with China, not to just shout from the sidelines,” Blain said.

Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch also argued that the UK should not use escalatory language.

“China is a country that we do a lot of business with,” Badenoch told Sky News. “China is a country that is significant in terms of world economics. It sits on the UN Security Council. We certainly should not be describing China as a foe, but we can describe it as a challenge.”

The Metropolitan Police over the weekend revealed that two men were arrested in March under the Official Secrets Act, and released on bail until October.

The police did not name either of the suspects, but the media did. The Rupert Murdoch-owned Sunday Times named one of the suspects as a 28-year-old Parliament aide who was “closely linked” to Minister of State for Security Tom Tugendhat and worked as a researcher for Alicia Kearns, chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Commons.

In a statement released by his attorneys on Monday, the researcher maintained he was “completely innocent.”

“I have spent my career to date trying to educate others about the challenge and threats presented by the Chinese Communist Party,” the statement said. “To do what has been claimed against me in extravagant news reporting would be against everything I stand for.”

Mao Ning, spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Monday that the alleged spy activity by China in the UK was “non-existent” and that Britain should “stop spreading false information and stop its anti-China political manipulation and malicious smear.”

Sen. Tom Cotton Grills Pentagon Over Using Nonsense Word ‘Themself’ On Military Award Citations

BY: SHAWN FLEETWOOD

SEPTEMBER 11, 2023

Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton is demanding answers from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on why the Pentagon is reportedly incorporating so-called “gender-neutral language” into military “decoration and award citations.”

In a letter sent to Austin on Friday, Cotton pressed the defense secretary on why the Pentagon is seeking to abandon the use of “himself” and “herself” in its Manual of Military Decorations and Awards to “describe heroic or distinguished actions” by military personnel. Rather than use grammatically accurate language to refer to the awarded individual, the manual will now allegedly employ the invented term “

“(Rank) First M. Last, Jr., United States (Military Service), distinguished themselfby superior meritorious service in a position of significant responsibility as (position and duty assignment), from (month year) to (month year),” the new model language allegedly reads.

The language change wouldn’t be the first time the Pentagon has abandoned proper English in favor of radical gender ideology. The U.S. Navy, for example, issued a training video last year instructing its service members on how to create a “safe space” by using “inclusive language” and “correct” pronouns, and warning them not to “misgender” others.

“The Department’s embrace of far-left gender ideology doesn’t merely subvert the English language in ways that would astonish George Orwell,” Cotton wrote. “Worse, it exemplifies a Pentagon leadership consumed by the fads of the faculty lounge at a time when the Army can’t hit its recruiting goals, the Navy can’t keep ships out of dry dock, and the Air Force can’t find spare parts for planes.”

Cotton is demanding to know whether Austin authorized the language update and if service members may request the use of their accurate male or female pronouns for any potential awards or ceremonies. The Arkansas senator also requested Austin inform him of “other official documentation” within the Pentagon that “requires gender-neutral language.”

“I also would welcome a reply that this whole episode was just a practical joke, or a decision you immediately reversed when it came to your attention,” Cotton wrote.

He gave Austin a deadline of Sept. 15 to respond to his requests.

Intellectual Froglegs Transmission – The Trilogy

September 11, 2023 | Sundance |

Comrades, the rebellious messenger Joe Dan Gorman has transmitted again in a coded frequency only receivable by patriots with a funny bone. The secret message uses humor thereby ensuring communists and leftists are incapable of receiving or deciphering it.

The subversive summer transmission comes from deep in the underground bunker of the Rebel Alliance. Pull out those super-secret decoder rings, and enjoy the broadcast before the deep state satellite interception trucks show up on your driveway…

2024 is MAGA burning the ships behind us. This one is for all the marbles. This is not a place where tepid half-measures and gentlemanly pastels will suffice. Get right with God, put on the armor, absorb the focus of fighting like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark, and get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Our ally is anyone who stands beside us, right now. Our enemy is anyone who doesn’t.

The new sons and daughters of the revolution are going to look completely different. The Green Dragon Tavern may be a church, a lunchroom, a picnic table or a tailgate. The assembly is not focused on the labels of the assembled; there’s no time for that. The mission is the purpose… The fight is wherever it surfaces…. Delicate sensibilities must be dispatched like a feather in a hurricane.

A reckoning is needed!

Peter Doocy reveals jaw-dropping response from WH official on why Biden skipped traditional 9/11 memorials

Chris EnloeSeptember 11, 2023

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy revealed late Sunday the eyebrow-raising analogy a White House official used when asked why President Joe Biden is skipping traditional 9/11 memorial services.

As president, Biden has marked the 9/11 anniversary by visiting the sites hit by the hijacked planes in 2001. Last year, he spoke from the Pentagon. In 2021, he visited all three sites: Ground Zero in New York City, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

But this year, he will be speaking from a military base in Anchorage, Alaska, following a trip to Asia.

Reporting from Vietnam, Doocy explained that he contacted White House officials about the president's unusual 9/11 plans. That official, whom Doocy did not name, offered a strange analogy in response.

"When I asked a White House official why it is that President Biden was here [in Vietnam] and missing the 9/11 commemorations at the attack sites, the analogy thatI was given is: 22 years after Pearl Harbor, U.S. presidents were not still going to visit Hawaii," Doocy said.

It is the first time a sitting president will not visit one of the three crash sites on the anniversary of the attacks, Newsweek noted.

Instead, Vice President Kamala Harris commemorated the 9/11 anniversary at the September 11th Memorial in New York City. First lady Jill Biden attended a ceremony at the Pentagon memorial, and second gentleman Doug Emhoff was sent to lay a wreath in Shanksville.

Funny enough, the White House tried to spin the deviation from presidential tradition, and MSNBC was happy to pass it along.

"The fact that the president is going to be speaking at a military base in Alaska in particular, I'm told, is meant to send this message: that so many people after 9/11 were inspired to join the Armed Forces and that that is a ripple that isn't always talked about as much," MSNBC reporter Monica Alba said on Monday. "So that's something the White House wants to honor today."

(This creature robot is a despicable representation of anything human. He hates America as much or Obama.)

Elon Musk files lawsuit accusing the state of California of violating free speech rights of X Corp

Carlos GarciaSeptember 08, 2023

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against California alleging that the state had violated his company's free speech rights by demanding open moderation policies.

Musk, who purchased the social media platform Twitter and rebranded it as X, has called himself a free speech absolutist and said previously that he purchased Twitter in order to maintain it as a global town square.

California passed AB 587 in Sept. 2022 requiring for social media companies to publish their polices about moderating content that may content disinformation, harassment, hate speech and extremism. The law only applies to companies with more than $100 million of gross annual revenue and allows the government to fine companies up to $15,000 per day, per violation.

X Corp argued in its lawsuit that the law violates its First Amendment free speech rights under the U.S. Constitution and the California state constitution.

The lawsuit filed in federal court claims that the "true intent" of the law is to compel social media companies to eliminate speech that the state finds objectionable.

X Corp says the law constitutes "a form of compelled speech in and of itself."

AB 587 also requires social media companies to submit a biannual report detailing how the terms of service defines extremism, disinformation and harassment. The law goes into effect in January and requires reports to be submitted to the attorney general's office no later than Jan. 1, 2024.

"California will not stand by as social media is weaponized to spread hate and disinformation that threaten our communities and foundational values as a country," said Newsom after signing the bill.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta said that he would respond to the lawsuit in federal court.

In April a lawsuit from the satire site The Babylon Bee and podcaster Tim Pool also challenged the law in court.

NATO to stage largest war games since Cold War – FT

Some 41,000 troops in Germany, Poland, and the Baltics will take part in the Steadfast Defender exercise, the outlet has reported

NATO is poised to hold its largest military exercises since the Cold War era in Western Europe early next year, the Financial Times reported on Monday. Thedrills will simulate the bloc's response to a hypothetical Russian invasionand are intended to increase readiness for such a scenario, according to the outlet.

Bearing the name Steadfast Defender, the exercises will involve around 41,000 troops, more than 50 ships, and between 500 and 700 combat air missions, according to the report. While the exercises are designed to simulate a clash with a fictional coalition named ‘Occasus,’ NATO officials told the FT that the maneuvers are “seen as a key part of demonstrating to Moscow that the alliance is prepared to fight.”

The exercises will reportedly take place in Germany, Poland, and the Baltic states, which border Russia, in February and March 2024. NATO-applicant Sweden will also be involved, the report said. The Nordic nation applied to join the bloc last year, but its application is still in limbo due to the reluctance of Türkiye and Hungary to ratify its bid, owing to a number of grievances in bilateral relations.

The FT also reported that NATO intends to hold two major war games a year instead of one. The exercise will also reportedly focus on counterterrorism efforts outside of the bloc’s borders.

In June 2022, in light of the Ukraine conflict, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that the bloc would deploy 300,000 troops, describing the development as the “biggest overhaul of our collective defense and deterrence since the Cold War.”

Meanwhile, Russian officials have repeatedly said that they perceive NATO’s military build-up as a threat, warning that such moves will lead to increased tensions in the region, thus warranting additional security measures from Moscow. Russia has also repeatedly warned the bloc against further expansion closer to Russia’s borders. President Vladimir Putin has said that one of main reasons behind the Ukraine conflict was the risk that Kiev would join the alliance.

(NATO and EU doesn’t think they have ratcheted it up high enough for Moscow to start WWIII! Sick MF’s there.)
