Would You Stand Alone?
How strong is your commitment to the Lord? When you stand for the truth in God’s Word, it won’t be popular beloved!
The Word says, you will be hated by all men, even those closest to you! It’s not easy to be a lone voice, when everyone is against you!
Do you want fame? Following Him is not the way to fame! It is the way to being ostracized, hated, and the way of suffering!
Matthew 20:22-23
Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. And He saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with.
Are you willing to empty yourself for His purposes? This will require humility, and pain!
Philippians 2:5-8
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Even Jesus endured this pain! He suffered ridicule, name calling, mocking, and ultimately, He suffered death!
Isaiah 53:3-6
He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of Sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
Are you willing to follow in His footsteps? The way of the cross is not an easy path, but one of sorrow!
In His darkest hour, Jesus was abandoned by those closest to Him! It may even feel at times that God has also turned His back on us, but He hasn’t beloved!
John 6:66-67
From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
Mark 14:50
And they all forsook Him, and fled.
He promises if you remain faithful to Him, He will remain faithful to you!
1 Corinthians 4:1-2
Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
Revelation 2:10
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Years ago while going through a difficult time in my life, I heard these words from the Lord to my spirit. I am sending you out quickly; I am going before you, to prepare a table for you, in the presence of your enemies!
I have seen His word to me play out over and over since that day; in every area of my life!
He has given me many opportunities to speak His truth! The things He has asked me to speak haven’t always been easy to hear or feel good messages! I have been hated and ridiculed at times for speaking what I believed He wanted me to say!
When I was young we sang a song at our church, and it was a song I loved, and would request when we’d have a Sunday night song service, where you could suggest a song. It was called, ‘Are Ye Able’!
Are we able and willing to be baptized as Jesus was? His was a baptism of fire, and suffering! A baptism that divides even family members one from another?
Luke 12:50-53
But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Beloved, can you stand for the truth, even if it may mean you stand alone? Will you say, yes Lord, I am willing to follow in Your footsteps and be obedient to Your Word no matter the cost!
Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
